You don't know who commited the murder until you question people.

oh come on, they were musicians, we all know they were just having a little jam session in there :P [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif].

Though I do agree with her on some parts about being worried, especially if there were marshalls on board, and come on, it was kind of suspcious.

But the crying, grabbing the kid, approaching the attendant about it, come on, how suspicious can you be yourselves? No wonder the guy didn't smile back, I would be pretty pissed if everyone was talking behind my back saying that I was a "terrorist"

Obviously I meant that they knew the murderer was hispanic..Say there was an eyewitness.

Uhh ok...?? What makes you think he knew that she thought he was a terrorist?

The people holding onto their husbands and children cry? The people confronting flight attendants? Writing down descriptions of them? The looks of the other people on board?

But that's the thing, as the story goes on she isn't the only one thinking it. The flight crew, other passengers and air marshalls onboard were also increasingly concerned by the behaviour.

Personally if I was on a flight and saw people (no matter what their ethnic background) acting in such a bizarre manner I would be a bit worried too.

According to the lady. The interaction with the flight attendant vibed panicky passenger management like nothing else. First, the plane is full of air marshals? Zero or occasionally two is pretty standard. Are they all flying to the annual air marshal convention or something? Second, why would they have her write down descriptions? Either the plane lands and the men are apprehended, or it's hijacked and everyone's screwed. Attendants are used to giving upset passengers something to do. It just usually involves handing a four-year-old a piece of paper and a green-yellow crayon.

Which is not to say something weird wasn't happening. It could have been a dry run, or a training exercise, or a diamond smuggling ring hiding their illegitimate goods in meter-wide cubes of frozen waste. Or nothing at all. Given that the men were let go in a couple hours and nothing was found on the plane, what do you think is most likely?

Along that line, a quick Google search gives me the impression that practicing Muslims pray five times daily, three of which could fall in the flight's time, and that washing beforehand is a integral part. Yeah.

Sorry to revive, just read this on the plane over to Finland yesterday. Don't really have time to comment on it or the thread right now.

It prompted airline whistleblowers to come forward with lurid tales of lapses in security against terrorists. It threw a spotlight on rumours and warnings of terrorists carrying out 'dry runs' for future hijackings.

But it also revealed an unpleasant underbelly of fear and loathing among ordinary passengers terrified of seeing a dark-skinned male face board their plane. It showed a world in which passengers saw terrorists around every corner and an innocent band of Arab musicians going to play a gig were mistaken for suicidal jihadis intent on mayhem.

...

But there was one problem in Jacobsen's account. The 14 men claiming to be musicians were, in fact, exactly that. Nour Mehana, a well-known Syrian singer, had been travelling on the plane along with his entire backing band.
