Every single "scientific" statement made on that website is not scientific. They stretched absolutely every single verse they found so that it'd seem like modern scientific knowledge.

Because Isiah said there were a bunch of stars and they were all unique, he must have realized that all of the stars are actually suns and that's proof that the bible is scientific.

Seriously. How the hell does this statement describe nuclear fission?
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
Duh. In nuclear fission, elements go from a solid state to a liquid state.

A lot of the things on that Science and the Bible site are and were common knowledge.

It doesn't. That verse describes the end of this present universe, which occurs right before the final judgment.

...Just wanted to clear that up.

But the link claims it's obviously nuclear fission. Lots of religious peoples think that the end of the world is a nuclear war (which I don't disagree with. Even if I don't think it's a biblical idea, I certainly don't think it's a stretch to believe that this would end us all, and is eminent)

The world will probably never end. At least not for billions of years.
2007-08-05, 3:22 PM #92
Notice that the verse also mentions the destruction of the heavens, not just the earth. (Nuclear fission is not that destructive-- no weapon that humanity has is sufficient to destroy the entire universe.)

By cross-referencing with other scripture, it is apparent that the day of the Lord is the end of the world where the universe as it is now will cease to exist and the only thing left will be the throne of God, before which every person who has ever lived will be judged. There are verses that share a similar concept (Isaiah 51:6, 2 Peter 3:7, and Revelation 20:11)

What good would a t-shirt do if you are condemned to eternal punishment? It's not like fashion is going to be a big deal in the lake of fire.

Fashion is a big deal in L.A.

And, you know, I'd rather spend my time burning and chillaxing with wailing and gnashing of teeth than living in that city.
