I have never admitted this before.

I have a serious confession to make. I am sorry to anyone who may be offended, but I just can't keep it in anymore.

I don't really like Radiohead.

There, I said it. Flog me, whatever. I listen to Indie and I'm not a fan of Radiohead.

But how will you be a successful film major in college without Radiohead to put in all your movies?! :downswords:

...Oh well, at least you still have black and white film and cigarettes.

I didn't like radiohead at all. After listening to more of their stuff I gained a lot of liking for them.

Great group, but they did take me some getting used to.

I've got everything they've ever done on my playlist. I've listened to their albums, all of them, from front to back. I really really really tried to like them. I certainly don't hate them, and they have 1 or 2 that I am really impressed by. I simply don't think they're the GREATEST BAND EVER OMG that everyone in the indie scene claims they are.

I think if I admitted this to one of my friends, he'd seriously be ANGRY with me. A majority of modest mouse fans also feel it's impossible to enjoy modest mouse without also enjoying radiohead. While this seems like a stupid admittance to all of you, this is a very big thing for an indie fan to admit. Brits and others over the pond will also know how high-art they are considered.

Last time I checked, people over here don't give as much of a toss about Radiohead as Yanks do.

I think I used to know who the hell they were.

Then I stopped listening to the radio. Because the radio was only playing the same crap over and over again from the last 3 years every single hour of the day between commercials.

Most of my music comes from soundtracks and the artists associated with them.

Yeah I never got off on Radiohead.

In high school when it was the month where it was cool to listen to radiohead and I was still listening to Prince.

Needless to say I was ostracised. Until they figured out I was cooler than everyone else and highschool went fine. Mostly.

But yeah, Radiohead=huh?

I don't think they're the best thing ever, but I do enjoy their music once in a while, quite a bit more since I forced myself to listen to OK Computer all the way through a few times.

I've got no problem with them, and it's fine to like them, I just really don't share the automatic love of radiohead like I guess "indie kids" are supposed to. You have no idea how profound a statement this would be in the wrong crowd. It's like being gay and telling your parents.

I also like ska :(

I love ska. The only thing I'm ashamed of liking is some types of emo (really only Thursday, and a couple songs from Boxcar Racer). Being ashamed of liking anything else is stupid, emo only because of the scene surrounding it. Gotta love skankin it up though.

I checked Radiohead out last year, I wasn't really my flavor to say the least. The only people I've ever seen OMG about it are characters on Smallville.

Radiohead has some awesome songs! Some of their others don't particularly strike my fancy!

Radiohead's Paranoid Android was used as the ending song for Ergo Proxy. And Ergo Proxy is possibly one of the best modern animes ever. So it goes without saying that Radiohead definitely did something right.

That's not to say I like all their music though.

I really hate radiohead. I do, although, have a profound respect for them. They mix all of their albums in 5.1 surround. It sounds amazing in surround sound even though I hate their music.

I think some of my hatred for Radiohead comes from the fact that someone in #massassi told me the guitar solo from Paranoid Android is the best guitar solo ever, and I was thoroughly underwhelmed by it.

Yeah, they're not a band to listen to if you want amazing guitarwork or anything. But they are profoundly skilled in that their music, as a compilation, sounds great. Much the same as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, or Nine Inch Nails.
