So yeah, that Orange Box. Really somethin'

In all seriousness, I can't wait. TF2 has been on my mind since the first video. I didn't really keep track of it till then.

I don't understand why neither of you are perma-banned.

I've been waiting for Team Fortress 2 for like.. 90 years, I've still got my issue of PC gamer earmarked on the page where they showed the first screenshots.

I am suddenly an idiot because I had no idea what the acronym TF2 signified, yes that makes perfect sense. God.
Nothing to see here, move along.

I know what it means now, but I thought he was referring to some forum thing that was going on, or something related to massassi.

No, he's basically saying there's no excuse at all for what you said. It's not hard to type "TF2" into the quick search of whatever browser you're using and check the results.

Ok, so that's enough. Let's get back on topic. We don't need more flaming.

Haha, I have that issue too. It was just after HL came out, TF2 was supposed to be realistic at that time. I remember they were really hyping up voice chat and syncing the models' mouths to the voice (this was like, 1998, mind you).

Whatever happened to the Black Box? Wasn't that supposed to be just EP2, Portal, and TF2?

In either case, I'll be picking it up off of Steam, which I'm sure won't require me to re-buy games I already own.

Exactly why I don't like Valve/Steam anymore. They just got rid of it.

You'll still be able to buy the games individually on Steam and there might be a package with them all together still... the "Black Box" is a RETAIL package, not a Steam one anyway. Anyone who has shopped on Steam knows there are about 1000 different game bundles.

heh, I'm definitely buying the Orange box for Portal and TF2.

I might end up throwing the HL2 disks away.

TF2 reminds me of The Incredibles for some reason. Must be the graphics.

Hee, I just played Narbanacular Drop and it was awesome. I've not had so much fun in a long time.

I really really really really really really want Portal but I really really really really really really hate Steam

(Steam works on my computer but not well enough for me to trust it enough to pay it enough money to buy Orange Box)

I wish Portal would be a MP game.

Maybe there could be like capture the flag games where you try to portal to the flag destination first. You would also have to oppose other players that might land you into infinite portals not allowing you to ever get to the flag too.

Still looks kick ***.

I've been thinking the same thing about Portal MP. It could be so much fun. I can only hope that they make an MP game.

2007-08-31, 8:45 PM #67
Will The Orange Box have the same system requirements as HL2?

Because HL2 looked really good, and ran extremely well even on a non-uber computer.
2007-08-31, 11:34 PM #68
I don't think they've messed around with HL2's requirements...

...also, if that package also included a future reservation for Episode Three, hell yeah I'd get it.

Hmm, this orange box is tempting even though I own HL2 and CS:S, having a hardcopy of the game would be very nice, not owning EP1 is a nice push in that direction too.

yeah the requirements have gone up, i think they went up for Ep1 as well, and theyve aded a bunch of new graphic features for Ep2.

INCLUDING A LIGHTING PREVIEW FOR HAMMER (THE MAP EDITOR)

i almost died when i heard this. apparently you just sit in one spot in the 3d preview, click a button and it shows you the lighting for whatever you see. then move the camera and it disappears until you press the button again to see the lighting somewhere else.
