And the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is the official title of Indy IV.

Disappointing...

I wanted it to be the Quest for the lost Ark or whatever it was called. I loved the original quest for the Ark, and it would have been awesome to have revisited it.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Yes, it would have been awesome having OAP indy struggling through a warehouse to find the right crate.
nope.

I wouldn't say the title sucks - its a very pulpy / serial-like title that goes along well with what IJ is based off of.

'Raiders of the Lost Ark', 'The Temple of Doom' and 'The Last Crusade' aren't exactly spectacular titles either, are they..? :P
woot!
2007-09-10, 7:42 PM #10
"Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "The Last Crusade" has a 'historical and adventure' feel to it. "Temple of Doom" was just silly.

But really, clips and trailers say more about the movie than the title.

Does anyone know if John Williams is confirmed for doing the music?
2007-09-11, 5:48 AM #15
Shia Lebouf is going to ruin it.

That is all.

Nuh uh. See Disturbia. I only knew him from Constantine and I, Robot when I read he was going to be (indy jnr.?) in this flick, so I was pretty "Why, God, why?" about it. But he's fantastic in Disturbia. I haven't seen Transformers but I hear he's good in that, too.

:neckbeard: I can't wait to be honest, I loved the first 3 and as long as Lucas doesn't mess up the story line like the new Star Wars movies, this should be great!

I like it, but it's crap compared to the other two.
nope.

Yeah, Temple of Doom isn't bad. The other two are just much better.

I think the best thing to do when you're going to watch all movies is watch Temple of Doom first.

I thought disturbia was his worst movie. He does an awesome job of being a minor supporting character in i, robot. Especially since that character is somewhat annoying. I mean, he's definitely not a very versatile actor, but yeah, I don't think he's going to ruin it either.

That means it's going to be a Bond movie with leather and whiskey instead of velvet and martinis. ****.

Spielburg, seems set on using good ol' fashioned 72mm film (or whatever the standard was, just before digital)...Which I think is a great idea, for these films, especially.

The movie is set in 1957 - seems reasonable, consiering Harrison's age...(Indy would be about 56 or 57) They're filming in Hawaii, but one of the settings is in the South American rainforest. (I guess Harrison wants to retire in style) It's very likely about Atlantis, since the Crystal skulls, are rumoured to be from there... Since it's not plural..."Kingdom of the Crystal Skull", may be in reference to the Aztecs (believed to be decendants of the Antlanteans), who may have been in possession of one of the 13 crystal skulls...in South America? Post WWII? Near Argentina, perhaps? Anyone?
Let's see...um...what group of people migrated to Argentina, after World War II? God damn, I could've wrote this. Maybe Cate Blanchett will be playing a good German, in this one too...

Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen), appears to be in the movie...
...as well, as John Hurt - he can play great bad guy (I could see him as a high-ranking post-war-Nazi, hiding out in Argentina, maybe?). So it's possible. it just. might. *not* suck.
My theory - if Shia LaBeouf, is Henry Jones the III. I'm pretty sure we all know who the mother is. That might suck. Or maybe it would suck even more, if he was another "Short-Round"-type character...which is typical for some of the roles he's already played.

all, in all it has the potential to be good - or completely suck. It's all in how it's executed....by the two guys who haven't done anything awesome since 1989.
