I just saw that and was about to start a thread. I like the look of the title on the shirt. Not sure about the sound. Hopefully they'll delve more deeply into the doctrines of the sith during Anikan's fall.

Yes, but Birth of the Empire only describes a single event in the film. Revenge of the Sith sums up pretty much everything in the movie.

Theres something cheesy sci-fi about it I don't like.... Not as bad as Attack of the Clones... GBK has a better idea, but i really think that its better to give the plot an indirect name like Return of the Jedi.... I thought The Phantom Menace was a pretty decent name too,, same the movie sucked.

That was somewhat predictable; not necessarily the fact that George Lucas would finally decide on that title, but given that Episode VI was originally named Revenge of the Jedi and George's reason for the change and the fact that that is pretty much what the first trilogy is all about. I can't say I am surprised, or that it is anything new. The movie better own though...it better own indeed.

Long ago it was voted the number one preferred speculated title for the film by fans, so there won't be a whole lot of complaining about it, other than the small minority of those who feel it their god-given duty to hate everything Lucas does.

what I hate is the people who think they have a right to decide what the mvie has.

Also, a note to you people is that you should always be a fan of the official star wars stuff, otherwise you will go down the same path as the trekies did. I.E. quoteing "beam me up scotty" when kirk never said that throughout the series.

The point of that is, you should never compare the works of the original creator with the creations of admirers.

I honestly think Lucas shouldn't be directing these movies. He can write a good story, but he lost something at directing.

Interesting tidbit: Return of the Jedi was originally going to be named Revenge of the JEdi, until it was decided that Jedi aren't vengeful.. And now people want Return of the Sith? Hehehe.

I think it was a good choice for a title. Think about it. You wanted Rise of the Empire. There was already a title involving the word empire. You want Return of the Sith.. Well.. They returned in episode 1... So that doesn't make any sense. Revenge of the Sith is a title that works nicely. I like it.

"A New Hope" is still the best title because it doesn't start with "the" and it doesn't follow the stale format "something of the something".

The title is good enough. It's not great, but it's not bad. It's not much different than Return of the Jedi, which was originally Revenge of the Jedi. A New Hope and The Phantom Menace are probably the best titles. The Phantom Menace actually has meaning to it, and it's clear someone took time to think it up, unlike Attack of the Clones.

alpha1, I'm so sick of reading you crap about things like this. You liked them? Fine. You're among the maybe 3% of human beings who do truly like them. The rest of us see them for what they are, not really worth watching. The acting was subpar and stale, the plot was flat out boring, and at damned big part of the movie is computer generated.

Honestly, how can you look at the new films and even place them in the same category as the old trilogy?

Lucas can do whatever the hell he wants, but that does NOT mean that we don't have the right to complain about it and say they suck.

MBeggar: I think, though I'm not sure, that Lucas only directed ANH. I don't think he directed ESB or RotJ.

To end this, I still hold very little hope that this movie will be any good. I realized last week that I could sit though the entire original trilogy at once, but I couldn't ever make it through Phantom Menace or Clones in one sitting.
