They don't. Illegal drugs only promotes crime.

If someone wants drugs, they'll get it. That's just all there is to it.

To be quite honest, I didn't know the forum was upgraded to allow us to change it. Last I remember the admins said to ask them to change it. So, yes, clearly I am stupid for not being clareyoyant enough to know the option changed.

And I routinely get PMs from members offering me support. They simply don't post it in the threads because they don't feel like putting up with the bull that I am immune to.

Of course the government would tax the hell out of them. Just like they do cigarettes and booze. The poor would most adversly be affected because they're more likely to use, further depleting their welfare and food stamp money as well as whatever other sadistic handouts they receive which will lead them to be even more dependant than they are now.

:psyduck:

What? It's their choice to use drugs, and in the case of marijuana, it's not addictive so they cannot become dependent upon it.

The bottom line is that drug use is a victimless crime, and individuals should have the right to take in any substances they want. The government should never be allowed to trample on such rights.

More likely to use? Drug use is hardly prejudice.

By the way, only a blind partisan would talk about this without bringing up that the three major Republican candidates didn't even show up to the debate held by the Black/Hispanic group on PBS.

You can't get cigs or booze with food stamps, so why would you be able to get drugs with them? Welfare's being slowly (but surely) phased out (starting with Clinton), and overall nowadays, at least they'd be able to TRACK what you spend your welfare money on if you're buying drugs. Now the money just goes off the radar into the "black market".

Fixed. Trafficking, distribution, possession, all crimes MADE UP by illegal drug users and "the war on drugs" (which is failing horribly). Drug use has INCREASED since the 'war on drugs' first started--why? Because the people trafficking nowadays aren't stupid. They're smart people out to make a dollar. You don't have to be hard to make money, just smart--get your ****, sell anonymously, bank out while you can, don't use. That's how you make money.

I've seen a lot of drugs sold in my time, and have only ever once seen a piece (and this guy was a ****ing retard anyways).

Well, I meant it promotes crime in general. :p

But yes, it does create a whole new ball park. You can ban all the drugs you want, but dealers will just go to college, get a masters in chemical engineering, and then retreat to their basements to invent a new way to get high.

And make ****tons of money off it, If there is a want for it, people will make it, sell it, and profit off it. It's yourown damned capitilist system.

I know a lot of people who are exactly like you described. And a lot of this ****, you just need a few classes in chemistry then you can teach yourself the rest.

You'd be surprised. Of course none of us know the laws as they apply everywhere but on my recent trip to California I was in a Savemart and swiped my card. I could choose from Credit, Debit, or EBT. For some reason I hit EBT, I guess I was thinking Electronic Banking Transfer or something. It asked for my pin, if I wanted cash back, etc. I selected cash back, probably $20. I waited for a second and the clerk told me I hit the one for food stamps. I was in uniform so I made a joke about how the news always says the military gets food stamps. Then I said, "you can get cash back on food stamps?" To which she replied, "yeah, isn't that something?" Mind you my beer and/or liquor rang up no problem.

I don't see the issue there. They should be praised for not pandering to race.

That's Cali. They've got their own problems for sure. I know everywhere I've lived you can't get any amenities like that--in fact only preapproved items on the foodstamps list (which is usually fairly basic, though includes some **** like "ice cream")

The Tobacco industry allows the government to tax them excessively in return for keeping marijuana illegal.
