Go outside
2007-10-01, 2:46 PM #1
Seriously.

Just go outside.

Don't take your laptop, ipod, gameboy, whatever.

Seriously, just go outside and enjoy it.

In other news it was really nice out today.

Wonder where you live.

It rained here literally all day, really bad at times.
2007-10-01, 2:55 PM #3
It's nice out here too...heading out to the gym shortly...
woot!

I love going out in the rain, it's really nice. It's one of the reasons I often contemplate moving to Seattle.

Seattle is nasty. Move to somewhere else in the Puget Sound area. Unless you like cities I guess.

Its cold and rainy. A nice day really.
2007-10-01, 3:08 PM #10
Going out in the summer rain is fine, it's not too cold. But in fall/winter, not so much fun if you ask me. Plus, judging by all the drivers around here, you'd think they'd never driven in the rain before. Morons.
2007-10-01, 3:11 PM #11
I've never heard of people having difficulties driving in the rain.. Its not that hard. Spray windows with chemical crap to make rain flow off, keep wipers up on high and try to avoid hydroplaning.

Went out and worked out for an hour and a half, and now I'm getting ready to go be a lacrosse coach for three hours outside.

Weekend is supposed to be clear.

This is good, the S90 should be all about ready for it's first test ride by tomorrow.

Too bad the only gas tank I have laying around won't fit. :/

(I'm strapping a lawn mower gas tank to it for tomorrow/the day after tomorrow just to test it, then I'll probably go buy a plastic motocross tank until I have the time to fix it's original gas tank.

In this case he's right though. Outside is sans computers, and therefore is awesome.

If only Glasgow wasn't starting to get damn cold.
nope.

Tell that to the Seattlites.

It was damp and cloudy in NYC today... at least it's still warm out though, relatively.

Kind of like that one time you beat that guy u.. he tripped over you.. it was exaggerated.

You're the one that is going to make the changes.

Outside for me normally involves work, heat, mosquitos, snakes, ants, and strange swamp smells.

I still do it though...

Well it's So. Cal. here so nothing much but warm sun and cool breezes all year long.

I agree with everything but the iPod.

Outside, warm sunny day, and J.S. Bach in my ears. You can't beat that.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

portable music is annoying, people seem like they can't just enjoy the sounds of nature.

There is no guaranteed way to do that except to keep your speed under 35 MPH.

That is seriously the only thing I remember from driver's ed.

you can avoid big puddles anyway. >__> besides, everyone loves it when you do under 35 on the freeway.

It's not like I actually heed that advice. Nor do I think it's accurate. I have never, ever, hydroplaned and I've gone between 60-70 MPH in the rain.

Does the pub (all day) count as outside?

If so I had a VERY outdoors-y weekend....

Don't come in here and ruin this thread with that hippy crap.
2007-10-01, 11:58 PM #28
We all know it's because I can't afford an iPod. >_>

I'm getting a job soon maybe hopefully. Except I'll probably be starting as an unpaid apprentice. >:|

I only told you like 20 times apprenticeship programs ****ing suck.
2007-10-02, 12:01 AM #30
Its not a program. Its a guy who makes cabinets, and might be willing to teach me, and once I'm competent, pay me money to do the work.

Yup.

Real future in making cabinets.
2007-10-02, 12:04 AM #32
I would probably go outside more than just to buy burgers (having a burger restaurant like 2 minutes away from here is awesome), groceries and going to the masseuse's if there was actually something other than snow and boring around here. I found a rapid like few kilometers away from here but I don't really fancy sitting on rocks.

Rob, stop being such a dick. Cabinet-making is a respectable occupation that requires actual skill, unlike your lackluster move-boxes-around job.

I don't have any experience outside. I don't want to go out there are start from level 1 and work my way up all over again when I've already got such great skills for inside.

Actually, the point is too learn woodworking skills which I could use in a variety of things. Boatbuilding for one, interior joinery on factory built fiberglass yachts even(they still use wood), working on rich peoples houses(=money), furniture making, lotsa stuff. Hell, if I learn the right stuff i could end up designing ships.(although i wont do that, because math sucks>__>)

yessir. having a spot in a pub for evenings beats any nice day out.

it's even more fun when the barmaid is your buddy's girlfriend.

If I go outside there is a possibility of me getting sniped. Especially with it being Ramadan. I'm fine at my station, thanks :D

Plus, it's hot as hell and I haven't seen any rain since April.

I'll be so glad to go home on leave and see a rainstorm. Just like.. those dark clouds you can see on the horizon when a front rolls in, When the wind starts blowing cold and you can tell it's going to pour. Then when the storm finally comes and I can be somewhere dry, but still watch the storm. Like at a gas station under the big covered spot where the pumps are. I love it.

From what I've heard, you need to pump your brakes.

I think that's advice from before anti-lock brakes were invented. The real answer is just don't drive like a jerk when the road is wet.

Lectures and crap weather trapped me indoors most of the day, but I went to the climbing wall in the evening for the first time in ages and surprised myself that I could still climb at almost the same difficulty level as before.
