First drink ever
2007-10-05, 11:54 PM #1
So last night, one of my other FO buddies asks me if I'd like a drink.

I jokingly said yes, thinking he wasn't serious. So I sat down on his rack and asked what he had. He pulls out a bottle of Kentucky Hennessy.

He poured me an 8oz glass and I, being ignorant of what I was drinking, poured it down my throat like water.
After realizing that I should have sipped it instead of doing it like a shot, I decided I wanted more because I wasn't feeling the effects of it.

I ended up drinking three more 8oz cups. I got a little tipsy, but nothing too bad. The worst part was when I stood up to fast after smoking a cigarette, ugh I wanted to die.

Share you first time drinking experiences.

Fun Fact: North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il is the world's largest single consumer of Hennessy cognac.

Anyway, my first drinking experience was with Smirnoff vodka. To this day, vodka is my least favorite liquor.

My Fiancee likes Smirnoff Triple Black, I believe it's called.

I never paid attention to it. But it's great because it only takes 3 of those to get her hammered.

I guess it's because she's a small girl, 5'3 and 110lbs.

It's fine with me. That means I only have to spend about $10 to get her drunk and I can spend the rest on some Grey Goose or Everclear :D

I was at a bus station with my friend, then he said he had some beer with him and gave me a can.

As for real stuff, my mother asked me if I liked water then told me that "Then you're gonna like vodka, it's just alcoholic water", I tasted it, agreed, and about a year or so after I was drinking all kinds of stuff like mad.

Freshman year of college, I got wasted on a bottle of Southern Comfort. I don't recommend it. To this day, I have an ongoing agreement with my roommate/best friend. If he drinks a whole 5 gallon jug of cheap Galliano wine, I will drink a fifth of SoCo. Otherwise, I stay away from that poison.

I was 12/13, with people 2-3 years older. I had probably 1 or 2 drinks worth of Crown Royale, some of which was mixed with coke. At 5 foot nothing and ~80 pounds, it was enough to give me some serious giggles. Played Golden-Axe on Sega genesis then went to bed a bit later (was at the cottage with my family). A very strange experience, but one of the most relaxed "drunks" I've ever experienced. At 20, I'm prone to paranoia while under the influence of alcohol. I'm not sure why it is.

The second time I got drunk I ending up passed out naked in the bathtub for half the night. And it was a fairly large party too.

Anyway I like Jager. I should go buy some actually.

Triple Black is tasty. Also a total girl drink... basically beer for girls who don't like beer. No vodka in it, incidentally, which makes it okay in my book.

Triple Black sucks if you're a guy. So does Bacardi Razz or Green Apple or whatever it is called. Honestly, if you drink one of those, you are going to wake up wondering where your manlyhood went. Beer is the way to go, because most beer drunks are happy drunks, and everybody loves happy drunks. Bud is good for getting drunk, but I strongly recommend a local, good microbrew if you want good taste. In my area of town, I get microbrewed Green Chile beer, and it is delicious.

I've never drank anything alcoholic unless you count vanilla extract.

But my first time being around really drunk people was in high school. 3 of my friends got a bottle of 99 apples and smuggled it in some sobe bottles and drank it while on a field trip. They were never caught :P

Beginning of senior year in high school, chugged a half-bottle of Captain Morgan. Now I prefer beer more than hard liquor, just because its more of a gradual drunkness.

My first drink was half a 6 pack of beer me and my friend Jacob found sitting on a transformer near our school bus stop at around 9pm. It was still cold, so we split it. As for my tastes, I prefer vodka or jager, but I mix every alcohol I get my hands on with Mountain Dew.

My first (and worst) drinking experience was with vodka. More specifically, vodka and warm Sprite. I could taste it in my throat for weeks after, and I can't even think about drinking vodka again. That stuff about it being tasteless is a load of crap. It tastes of alcohol :P

I much prefer beer for getting drunk, but while out I'll drink the occasional Smirnoff Ice or similar drink for the sugar. Diabetes can be a pain to control, but I'd rather have my sugar levels too high than too low on a night out :D
2007-10-06, 4:53 AM #19
Yes, Vodka tastes very strongly of alchol. The notion that alcohol is tasteless is nonsense, it may not do anything to taste buds but somewhere along the line it sends a signal to my brain that I receive the same way I receive tastes.

I dislike vodka so much that I would choose to drink whiskey instead, even though I hate the taste of whiskey, but the foul taste is enough to take the edge off the strong taste of alcohol.

Vodka is the single worst tasting drink I've ever had. Needless to say it's ok with IRN-BRU.

God knows what my first drinking experience was, it was quite a while ago. :P

Although interestingly I woke up half naked draped across my bed this morning with a half eaten chippy laying just below my head.:v:

I had sipped some wine as my first alcoholic drink.
When actually drinking, I like White Russians, Red Bull and vodka, screwdrivers, wine, and I've only had a few kinds of beer. Mostly Yuengling Lager.

I honestly don't remember. Probably a sip of champagne on new year when I was like, what, 5? 8? But I don't think that really counts. The first time I actually got pretty drunk, though, I was drinking vodka. That much is clear. :)

unless you're incapable of processing beer. at 1.5 beers i am violently ill, and have not even caught a buzz yet. so now i avoid drinking it. i drink those smirnoff things when i dont feel like getting wasted/dont feel like spending money on liquor.

as for first drinking experiences, cast & crew party for a local production of the sound of music (i was crew.) i tried a lot of varieties of liquor that night. and got my first taste of my two favorite drinks that night. Gin&Tonic and Tequila Sunrises.

also that was the first time i puked out of a moving vehicle!

The first drink I had was when I was a child. It's not a big deal, and if you travel around without tasting at least some of the local beverages you really miss out.

The first time I got drunk was off of scotch. Not a big fan of scotch anymore, but that's after dozens of times getting drunk off of it.

i started with vodka and i always have some kind of vodka on hand

oh and why do people think grey goose is the best vodka... IT'S FRENCH the french only do 3 things right... wine, champagne, and waving a white flag

the best vodka comes from Poland.

The first time I got drunk was doing shots of Vodka on smokers hill in 7th grade. I puked for 20 minutes and then "walked" the 3 blocks home and skipped the rest of school. My parents got home and by then I was sober.

Then I turned into an alcoholic for 3 or 4 years.

Yeah, Chopin's decent stuff. If I could afford it, I might actually drink vodka.

There's a vodka named after a famous composer?

Why have I just now been informed of this

My first drink was probably when I was 11/12 years old. I always remember sipping on my parents Miller whenever we would grill out, which was often. My first time getting really drunk was when I was 15/16, camping with my father and a bunch of family friends.

They were passing an ice cold bottle of peppermint schnapps around the camp fire, when it got to me, I just ripped it, went down so smooth being so cold. A few gulps of that and the 7-8 beers my dad kept giving me, got me pretty messed up. I can't stand peppermint schnapps to this day, I also never touch Milwaukee Best anymore >.>

I don't drink to get drunk (b/c of this, hard liquor is not for me) but I do enjoy small amounts of beer or wine with meals. In that case, I only have one bottle or glass.

Czechvar (Budweiser Budvar in Europe) is my favorite beer. It's good all the way around and in all seasons. In the winter, I like maltier beers more, like a good Hefeweizen, notably Paulaner or Franziskaner. Salvator Double Bock is good as well.

For wine, I prefer reds (a good Pinot Noir or zinfendel) and a few whites (Pinot Grigio and Sauvingnon Blanc)

My first drink was in my junior year of high school (a can of coors), when I was young and before I knew what good beer tastes like.

I drink to not get hungover, therefore it's JD and Coke all night.

I've had one hang over, and that was with the second beer from my thread I posted the other day. Otherwise, I sober quickly.

As a kid, my folks would let me have wine with dinner, and as I got older, they'd let me have more. My first time I got actually drunk, I went to my parents' liquor cabinet, and poured a tall glass full of gin, vodka and tequila. I sucked it down, and got the spins something horrible.

There's no such thing as Kentucky Hennessy. Hennessy is made in Cognac, France, which is nowhere near Kentucky. Unless Kentucky Hennessy is some slang I don't know about.

stat, I'm pretty sure it's like calling sparkling water champagne.

No idea. Probably was cheap beer or cider, though.

First time properly drunk? 17-ish, Christmas party. Vodka and lemonade, mostly. I think.
