Just a poll to see who might win in an election, since this forum has a wide variety of posters. I myself like Ron Paul, who do you like?
2007-10-16, 10:14 AM #2
Obama, but I'm british. :P

Also, has Al Gore changed his mind about running yet?
nope.

I almost want to see Ron Paul get elected, only because the inevitable economic collapse would be pretty lol.

I'm with Kyle, because most of his policies look idiotic. :P
nope.
2007-10-16, 10:44 AM #6
Heh I dunno why you'd say that; I'm all for free trade. Ron Paul is the one opposing it. He wants to pull out of NAFTA for crying out loud (also he has this crazy paranoid theory that "they" are trying to join Canada, the US, and Mexico into a "North American Union")

Also he says he'd leave the UN, which is pretty much the definition of :psyduck:

I won't even start on his even crazier ideas; the gold standard and "FDA is suppressing alternative 'medicine'" BS, etc.

Even today individual income taxes account for only one-third the federal revenue... Eliminating one-third of the proposed 2007 budget would still leave federal spending at roughly $1.8 trillion - a sum GREATER than the budget just 6 years ago in 2000... Does anyone seriously believe we could not find ways to cut spending levels back to 2000?

He does pose a very good point on the tax situation and our economy.

Where's "Doesn't matter, politicians are and will always be douches"?

Oh, any of them? Makes sense. Voted for Thompson since he was on two episodes of Matlock.

Ron Paul if he's available, but more likely George Phillies or someone like that.

currently undecided. between kucinich and obama right now because for the former, its been a while since we've had a pres elected from ohio, and presidents from ohio almost never leave big messes, and obama, because i like some of his stances and hes better than hillary.

Different is always idiotic, especially when faced with taking time to lean to subject enough to well enough to make an informed opinion.

Also, who's the idiot who voted for Guliani?

Ron Paul hands down. None of the rest are worth a damn.

Ron Paul seems to be one of the few politicians who are totally frank about what he believes. In interviews he actually goes out of his way to answer questions above and beyond what he was asked so people understand the full context of his answer. Every other politician I've seen goes out of his way to hide what he believes so as not to alienate voters by giving a straight answer. Now I like Ron Paul, but I can respect any politician who behaves this way regardless of weather I agree with him.

I'm voting for Kedri.

Ron Paul OR Obama, but less Ron Paul since he wants to completely do away with programs that I benefit from, and doesn't believe in any social services, which won't matter since he won't be able to reform everything, but if he succeeded in reforming everything, would ruin our nation.

I don't think he was to do away with them, so much as he wants them not to be done by the federal government. If that could be pulled off, there's a very good chance that would actually help you.

I don't trust Obama. He's a smooth talk but I doubt his sincerity. Granted I don't know much about him, but still.

I have a bad feeling that this election is going to come down between Guilini and Hillary. If it does, I better not get any party fanboys telling me about my duty to vote. I might have to smack them.

can someone explain to me why so many people seem to hate guliani?

happydud speaks truth. Not to mention he's a babbling idiot. He was hated before 9/11, considered some kind of a hero because he... was mayor at the time? Seriously, he's a waste of time.

And I've said it several times, and abide by the toxx clause. I will move to Canada at some point that is convenient during a term held by Hilary. I cannot imagine the PC bullstat.

I'm not kidding, Freelancer. I have several reasons for moving to Canada otherwise, but Hilary being president is good enough. Bush and then Hilary will see to it that we never see a healthy political atmosphere ever again.

This is why:

Quote:
What we don't see is that freedom is not a concept in which people can do anything they want, be anything they can be. Freedom is about authority. Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do.

That's not paranoia at all. I suggest you research the topic.

I do support free trade, though.
