Yeah, starting/ending relationships shows what a wuss you are. You're hiding behind a screen where you can change words, use that "backspace" key, or google something to say. Phone, you can hang up or make lame "static" excuses, but I'd say it is a little better than online. Face to face is best because you won't have that lingering "I wonder how they really reacted" feeling. Also, you'll see how they react immediately instead of "false tone online" mask. Plus depending on the situation, you'll have different thoughts upon the break up.

IM: yeah let's break up

IM: ZOMG LET'S GO OUTTT AND DATE

They are like annoying pop ups.

The answer is to not break up, and get married as soon as possible, like in the old days. And act like the dad on Everybody Loves Raymond (RIP)

While I'm certain that if I broke up with someone online (and I've done it before -- there wasn't any other way at the time) they would be unhappy with me, believing me to be a coward afraid to show emotion, I happen to know that such is not the case. I show no emotion when breaking up with people anymore, period. Nothing. Hell, I'm not sure if I even feel anything when I do it anymore. So, really, for me to break up with someone over the internet would be based more out of convenience than cowardice -- I can speak better online, and express things the way I want to, as opposed to the way I do in person.

I'm certain people will look down on me for this, but such is life.

For some reason I read this as:

I was extremely confused for a second.
