The "No Shoplifting: It's against the law" sign in that comic makes up for the rest of this thread.

I'm almost tempted to abort this thread before it grows into a flamewar.

It does sound like its going to go that way pretty quick, or if people stick to the subject it will be the most depressing thread on Massassi.
I was tempted to skip this thread, but I was morbidly curious to what people think are sad examples of humanity.
I do have a question about the "Mommy Kills" thing. What is it you find about that site that makes humanity look bad?
This may seem like a dumb question but:
When I saw that comic title, I thought that was really sad. They've taken the stance far too far and have made a disgusting bloody comic designed for children{/i]. I don't care if they think wearing fur makes you a killer, you don't make a graphic comic about it and hand it out to anyone too young to get into the 'good' movies.
Was that your take as well, or was it that your so offended by people wearing fur?
I realise asking this question may end up fanning the flames, but I'm really interested to know.

What's sad about the PETA comic is that they are now resorting to targeting children with their extremist propoganda.

I never understood their huge problem with leather. Considering thousands of cattle are slaughtered for meat every day, you'd think using the hide too would be better. Then again, they don't want us to eat meat either.

Fur coats are usually made from sea otters and minks and stuff. But I didn't see the comic, so what do I know? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

Banks and banks of humming machinery! I've never seen so many knobs. We're going to have to do something, Charlie! Try pushing that button there. No? How about that one? No, not that one either. I know! I'll try pushing this one. Hold my hat will you? Good fellow.

I initially made the post because I think it is disgusting to market a "comic book" to children with that kind of rhetoric however after skimming the website more I noticed the video link. I firmly believe that animals, even those that we raise to kill, should be treated with respect. That video shows humanity near its worse. I don't support PETA because of their radical positions on many issues however that doesn't mean that they don't sometimes have valid points.

And about fanning the flames, you don't have to worry about that kind of response from me. Unlike some, I have absolutely no problem answering requests or challenges to clarify my positions.
