We are spirits in the material world
Are spirits in the material world

I dont see why it isnt vaguely science. Its very poor science, in that its hyothesese are poorly stated and vauge. But they are trying to test and prove some.

Of course its not "real" science where everything takes 50 years to do because theres so much red tape and idiot laws.

This is what every mad scientist says before departing for his secret lab to perform unspeakable experiments...

Not really. Hysteria, power of suggestion, there are a dozen other psychological phenomena that explain it.

Something can't be "sort of" science, it either is or it isn't.

The problem with ghost hunters is that, even if they say they attempt to disprove sightings first, they immediately assume that an unexplainable event must be attributed to paranormal activity. That's not science in any way. It's a crock and nothing more.

Admitting you, your uncle, and your best friend saw something is an observation. Observing different aspects of this event are also important. Explaining these observations without using what you know about reality is not useful or helpful in determining the reality of something. Saying that you, your uncle, and your best friend saw a GHOST is entirely and absolutely stupid. Seeing something doesn't mean your assumptions about that thing are true. Doubt is the only method of reasoning.

Guys, I just sat down on the toilet and cranked one out.

But to my horror, when I looked there was nothing there.

I have been the victim of the ghost poop. I'm scared. I need to call someone with ESP, ISP, DSP, or whatever. Better break out the electromagnetic speclolameter too.

I can't necessarily say that I saw a "ghost." I first tried to explain it using what I know about reality, and when that became more and more evident to NOT explain the events, I felt the concept of "ghosts" matched up better. Do I know that I've seen a ghost? No. I do know that what I saw is consistent with what I have heard about ghosts. I don't know exactly what I saw, but if I had to bet, I'd say it was something beyond the natural/known, because after trying our hardest, as a collective group of eyewitnesses, we were unable to find an explanation other than "Wow, we saw something really out of the normal just now."

So you're limitation of knowledge means you know what it must've been?

call the ISP, it sounds like some kind of connection problem, since you sent a packet but there was 100% loss in transfer...

What? I'm sure what you're trying to say with that statement. Could you reword it?

[edit] Like I said, I don't know what I saw, but I think it could have been something paranormal.

Sure, but when I see something, and my best friend sees something, and my uncle Joe sees something, it becomes more and more credible (to me). I'm not going to take the word of a homeless guy, but if me and someone else see the same thing at the same time, and someone else and his group sees something, it slowly starts to build up. Not that that is -always- reliable, but it is significant.
[edit] Especially if we all see it from different angles.

It one thing to see something. It's entirely another to understand what it is.
