What kind of question is this? Of course you should buy a gun!
Life is beautiful.

Get another gun then show it to us!
Pissed Off?

If the choice is to buy a gun or to not buy a gun, you just have to look at the situation logically. Is there any reason not to buy a gun? I didn't think so.

Do it.

You know you want to.

Also $95 (before tax and BG checks) is a FEG PA-63.

That's what I'm getting next.

Haha, Live Free or Die right?

The 63 is not Curios and Relics or whatever the **** it is. I'm confused as to the whole FFL situation but I know it isn't C&R.

NH FTMFW. :D

That's a spiffy looking gun...too bad shipping & FFL fees would add 50% to the cost.. .(

A buddy of mine has an FFL dealer who is getting it $125 into my hands. I think it's because his daughter has the hots for me.

M44s are good fun

i'll use this as an excuse
1944 Izhevsk (this one was literally put away wet)

1945 Izhevsk laminate stock
[http://necropimp.home.insightbb.com/gunpics/1945_Izhevsk_M44_lam.jpg]

and not technically an M44 but a direct copy of the design
Chinese Type 53 1953 Factory 296 (low production year)

things to look for in a Russian M44
Tula 1944 (low production and only year for Tula M44s) look for a large star with an arrow on the barrel shank
Izhevsk 1943 (field trials model and VERY low production year)
Izhevsk 1947 (second lowest production year)
"hex" reciever (hard to find but they exist)
DDR (East Germany) property stamp (triangle with a 1 inside of it)
eat right, exercise, die anyway

I bought it. I'll post pics shortly. :) Mine's a 1944, but I didn't look for a star/arrow..I'll have to check it out.

Awesome!! I got my C&R and collect surplus rifles too!!! But my main interest is in sks rifles but I also have 3 mosin-nagants. It nice to see JK players that also collect surplus rifles. If you want a good source for info and help with surplus rifles check out www.sksboards.com, the main focus is sks rifles but they have a section for other rifles too.

...do you know even know what a redneck is? Calling anyone in this thread a redneck is like calling a white guy a (n-word).
2007-11-14, 9:47 AM #27
When did "redneck" become such a contentious word? If it is like the n-word then whites should be able to use it as much as we want to.

cars need gas and room to maneuver and make terrible shelters from the undead

tazers WILL NOT WORK ON ZOMBIES in fact i think there are a few tazer models with a chapter on zombie combat in the manual that says "The [modelhere] tazer is ineffective against the undead and should not be used"

AR15... ok it's a gun in a common caliber but a high maintenance weapon in the field you may not have time for routine cleaning and function problems can cost you

i've stated before that GRENADES ARE A BAD IDEA

can't think of "other cool police stuff" that would be useful... other than the shotguns which are usually a model with a good record of reliability and a shotgun can easily do the job of destroying the brain and ammo availability (considering police shotguns are 12 gauge) is not going to be a problem

Have you ever carried an AR15 in the field? IT will only jam on you if you are an idiot. Add to the fact that piston uppers are becoming more common.

Hate to say, but they jam too. Trust me, I have sliced my hand open on them when they do.

EDIT:Also the action in question is the piston AR15 upper I referred to.

reliability of an AK-47 is still much better than an AR-15... the piston uppers are not what i'm talking about either in fact some will argue that a piston upper makes it "not an ar-15 anymore"

maybe i should have worded it "nearly flawless" because while according to you an AR-15 will only jam if you are an idiot an AK-47 will only jam if something is broken (bent feed lips on a magazine have been the cause of the few jams i've experienced with a friend's AK) or maybe if you're a total moron but the AK was designed to be something even a total moron could use so something broken is more likely

my weapon of choice (out of what i have) would be my SKS it's well within acceptable accuracy for zombie outbreak, ammunition would be easy to find, it's not too heavy, has bayonet, and i trust it's reliability

though if you want flawless reliability... scroll up

No weapon has flawless reliability.

In an individual combat situation, two guns is one, one gun is none. All weapons can missfeed, FTF, FTE or any number of other problems. Your two weapons should also not use the same ammunition.

And for what it's worth I agree with you. But the familiarity I have with an AR-15 surpasses any advantages other weapons systems have. Couple that with the piston upper (I don't care if it isn't an AR-15 in spirit) and you have a superior weapon. Greater accuracy can be had with an AR-15 than with many other weapons, both in long range situations as well as snap shooting.

Mostly personal preference, as it is training that really makes the difference in the end anyway.

Our handguns are .45ACP, which helps. The aforementioned shotguns...radios & repeaters are handy as well.

My single barrel break-open 20ga is pretty damned close to perfectly reliable, dude. ;)
