guy I know has been banging the war-drums trying to get an aussie server for WoW happening. it might happen, might not. it took a couple of years and a couple of plane hijackings before there was an ultima online server down here

they should let Aussies in, dammit. The only prohibitive thing is the sheer size of the beta, if you ask me. But a local aussie server should be able to cope with them... obviously if they had to play on the Euro or NA servers it'd be horribly slow. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

those screenshots are pretty good for dynamic online gaming. What is the average framerate like, i'm curious. Is lag a problem?

(I'm still not into Online RPGS, btw)

I get anywhere from 30-50 FPS. But in a really busy place ike Stormwind where there are hundreds of people...maybe 20FPS...but average is 30-50FPS

It's a MMORPG. It isn't half as "dynamic" as it looks (or as the people who play it would like us to believe).

More like it's a bunch of Korean kids who'll stand around a static spawn mashing 'ki', screaming 'lich rush' and using various anime-themed emoticons.

WoW might be the first MMORPG I'd think of getting and paying monthly for.


Also, what ever happened to Guild wars? Why did everyone stop talking about it?

Actually from what I've heard from beta testers its nothing but awesome. There's been quite a few who have said its probably THE best MMORPG out there right now, and half of the stuff that's supposed to be implemented isn't even in-game yet. (It is a beta, after all.)
