Actually, I've even seen people who hate anime say they liked Cowboy Bebop. It's like that one series that everyone can always agree on... except a few losers.

Yeah. I thought anime was stupid too a few years ago. Then I actually watched something that was good.

Don't generalize. It makes you look stupid.

For the record, I read somewhere that Cowboy Bebop's ending is open to interpretation. The creator left it ambiguous on purpose it seems... *Shrug*

I really don't see that, unless you mean something like the theory that the whole show was really just Spike's time in purgatory or something like that?

I mean open to interpretation as to whether Spike actually died. I personally didn't see him take any wounds worse than what he'd been through before, especially if you count the movie as canon.

Yeah. I read that too. I think I'm just used to every series I watch having more closure when it ends. Cowboy Bebop totally didn't have much of that. Spike left and did his thing, and everyone else just kinda stood around.

I like it ending the way it did. The whole show was a character study, and the slight carry-over of the plot was simply to keep the whole series familiar with itself. All in all, had it ended any other way, all of the episodes would have had to have more focus and intention on a major plotline, and would've ruined the character study.

And the makers all have their own opinion of what happened, and none of their opinions are intended to be cannon. I personally think Spike died, because his usefulness was outlasted, and he had no will to keep living.

Man, you guys and your Annie May's and your Mang-gah. Back in my day we watched scooby doo and read justice leauge.

Kidding aside, y'all should give Higurashi no Nakukoro ni Kai a try. The art style is meeeeeh, but the plot is rather engaging, giving it time. All I can say is watch the first four episodes in a row, then you'll see if you like the series.

Back to the topic, Naruto was good back before the time jump. It's just kinda mediocre now.

So? Stars randomly fading away doesn't mean a whole lot especially when the story does not reference them.

It was. When Jet went to see Laughing Bull (from a quick Google. I didn't think his name was explicitly mentioned, but whatever.) when he was looking for where Spike had buggered off to. There's quite a lot of similar stuff at the start of Jupiter Jazz part 1. And also the end of part 2, I think.

Anyway, I figure Spike's dead 'cause, you know, sucking chest wounds, blood loss and the whole thing of Vicious being the only one that can actually kill him.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.
2007-12-30, 1:55 PM #56
Yes, Laughing Bull specifically says something along the lines of "his star is about to fall" to Jet. At the very end of the credits, a unique blue star becomes bright for a moment, then fades away completely.

The lyrics to the final episode's credits, "Blue", are about passing into the after life. For example, the last lines are:

Everything is clearer now
Life is just a dream, you know?
It's never ending
I'm ascending

Spike's last word, "bang", is a reference to the fifth episode, with the boy who was hundreds of years old and couldn't die. He was relieved when he finally could die, and he asked Spike, "do you understand?" Spike saying "bang" just as he died showed that he finally did understand.

Yeah it is. The anime didn't even really get into the what is the main story in the manga. Ive downloaded a few episodes, but reading them on the computer isnt that pleasurable.

I read the first 12 chapters of Berserk and damn it was good.

Never had a chance to read any more than that though.

Compared to the old, pre-filler Naruto Shippuuden sucks so much it's not even funny. I haven't read the manga but I can imagine how good Shippuuden could be if the anime director hadn't destroyed his brain by eating too much toxic mushrooms during the filler seasons.

Gurren Lagann certainly kicked more *** than just its own share. Another *** kickingly awesome series recently was Baccano, presenting some of the best script writing I've ever had the pleasure to witness.

I suggest you read the manga (you can find it online easily). That's where it starts getting really good and interesting. Not as cool as the show, but I like it better than shippuuden
