New Year's Eve & Resolutions
2007-12-31, 1:35 AM #1
It's New Year's Eve.

That means its December 31st again, but this time in 2007.

So this is the New Year's Eve of 2007 thread and I'll put a little e-cupcake for someone to e-eat.

Resolutions, resolutions...
every year I say, "Oh I'll do this and that and even that !" but I don't most of the time. This is why some people hate making resolutions .

Anyways, my resolutions for 2008 is to pass my ap chem class , get more 360 games , and sleep more . Not too hard, so I hope I'll be able to accomplish this.

So what about you ?

Continue my trend of weight-loss (lost 22 pounds since mid-November) and resume my weight-losing dietary habits (stupid Christmas and potlucks :argh: )

Quote:
"Good resolutions are useless attempts to interfere with scientific laws. Their origin is pure vanity. Their result is absolutely nil. They give us, now and then, some of those luxurious sterile emotions that have a certain charm for the weak. That is all that can be said for them. They are simply cheques that men draw on a bank where they have no account."

- Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray

Nevertheless, I'll play the game:
- Run the Copenhagen Marathon
- Keep a consistent journal
- Succeed academically while abroad
- Make a positive impression during my summer internship

<3 Dorian Gray

Anyway, tonight I'm working til 10:30, and then I'll probably just come home and clean my room.

But my resolutions are:
Stop drinking soda
Stop buying cigarrettes
Get hotter

I did ok with my resolutions last year. One of them was lose weight (I started last year at 231 and got down to 199, but it's gone back up a lot), another was read the Bible more often (OMG! Fundy!) and I read more this year than the last two put together.

Anyway, mine are about like last years:
1. Get my weight down to 195 (imafatty)
2. Let my wife know I love her more often (I bought a book to help - "10,000 Ways to Say I Love You")
3. Practice my bass more often (which means cutting back on video games)
4. Go to bed earlier (bedtime is currently between 11:30 and 12:00 regardless if I have to get up at 5am or not)

New Years Resolutions:

-Get on track with blood sugars (and doing them when I'm supposed to!!)
-Rock my junior recital
-good grades of course, but also get organized. I make this one every year and so far it hasn't happened
-Control my eating habits: invest in gum and hard candies since I'm pretty sure I have an oral fixation
-TURN IN MY TIMECARDS!
-Get an internship!!
-Find jeans that fit
-Achieve self-actualization

Me: I have no idea
Fincham: I meant where are you sitting. This wasn't an existential question.

Nope, Self actualization

Though it was meant as a joke, which is why I put it in right after finding jeans that fit :P

I didn't even think I would be alive to see 2008.
So this year I will be sure to.
-Stop drinking soda.
-Get on a decent sleep schedule.
-Finish some more of my art.
-Burn all of my old highschool homework.
My blawgh.

Finish my chapbook.
Cut down on food I don't like, makes me fat, but is convenient.
Get some muscle strength in my legs back despite the futility of walking.
Meet people that are unrelated to my ex or excessive amounts of alcohol.
Try new beers.
See a single unpaid flash/web project through to completion?

Will it even finish this year? The first direct-to-DVD movie is due in March. When is the second?

I guess my resolution would have to be to get a friggin' job.

Now only if my potential employers would cooperate in this matter, it would be a piece of cake.
