Oh comon I think we can all agree that, no matter how bad, there are many MMOs better than WoW and EVE is probably one of them.

Stargate Worlds looks cool but it's an MMO so it will almost certainly suck.

ditto, I tried Eve for a few days but could never really get into it. I know that it has a steep learning curve after which things become easier but I couldn't be arsed with it (and WoW) during my finals/first year of my phd.

Might give eve another shot, till then my guild in WoW is just about to hit Mount Hyjal and then Black Temple...we downed vashj last week and have had some good shots at kael.

How about people stop acting like their opinion is the end all be all of all opinions. Obviously, around 8 million people enjoy the game, so they must have done something right for a large crowd of people.

There is a difference between saying "I don't like this game, I prefer EVE Online, you should try it sometimes," and saying "OMG this game SUCKS you are better off playing EVE Online." or "You HAVE to agree with me, there are better MMOs out there than WoW"

I don't care about those 8 million people. I play with them, and I can tell you that they're mostly all idiots. The Sims is probably one of the best selling games of all time too, but real gamers don't care about that.

I don't like how long it takes to level in EVE at all. It's horribly slow. I'm not paying for a game for 6 months before I can start having any semblance of fun.

If you join a good guild on a server that actually has people leveling and doing low level instances, you will have some good times with WoW.

That, my friend, is simply due to the people you surround yourself with ingame. Now, I would agree there are several idiots even on the more mature servers, BUT I would never go as far as saying mostly all are idiots.

Also, saying "I don't care about those 8 million people" is simply discarding facts and being a douche. You're discarding every other person's opinion and saying yours is right.

No I played wow for several months. And unless you get in a decent guild, there are an awful lot of idiots.

Honestly, I'm not telling you your opinion is wrong. If you as a person thinks the game sucks, its your right and by all mean its fine. The fact that the game itself is popular does not make it good in any way, shape or form. I'm just saying that this game is good in the eyes of at least 8 million people, so it somewhat speaks for itself. A lot of people like the game.

EVE has changed a fair bit since those reviews. Alliance-level warfare is my favorite part of the game and that didn't really occur until 2005-2006.

So who else is in GF besides me, Stinky and kyle90?

I didn't like what I played of EVE ages ago, but it was certainly better than WoW straight off the bat anyway.

Honestly it's not really taking me that long to get stuff...granted I do plenty of beggaring around so I managed to skip like 65% of the ISK grind to buy things and I'll be in a Raven (Got a sweet deal for one on the cheap) by Wednesday with only about 1 month + the my starting 14 day trial of play time.

I recently started playing again, with the 2.3 patch, I got my new warrior up to level 60 in just under 3 weeks or so, the shock of 60-61 being 500k XP was pretty harsh though (59-60 is now just 200k XP). I'm really loving my new guild, the game is kind of fun again.

My Warrior: Going to be Protection when I hit 70, currently fury. My guild is just starting to run Kara, it's kind of the right time to get back in. I really love tanking, I love to be in control, as opposed to my priest which was just a reactionary role.

My Priest: I sort of stopped playing her. They just offered free character transfers over to another server, I'm debating taking advantage of it. I don't know.

I will NOT pay money every 2 months for that ****. Runescape is better, only because its FREE, well you CAN get it free. Wow is the Devil.
