It was originally Boko, Bartz' chocobo from FF5, but I made that account, never did anything with it and then lost the password.

After that I corrupted it to make Boco.

Baconfish sort of came from there. I think people in the chat were maing fun of landfish or something and changing their names to [blank]fish etc and I just happened to be eating a bacon sandwich at the time. I liked it and kept it. Plus it wasn't so dissimilar from Boco so they let me change it on the forums.

:D

Alex Zanardi was my idol when I used to follow the racing series CART.. and to this day he is someone to look up to. Still racing cars after an accident when he lost his legs.

I just made mine up, but then pretended (because I'm a mapper) that it was a mix of oxymoron and ontagon (get it, contradictory shapes, like? mapping yeah?)

I use Sneaky because well, I like sneaking.
Sneaky sneaks. I'm actually a werewolf. Woof.

I have trouble coming up with names for websites. I tried to think of a good name for these forums but unfortunately this was the result. I've been using the shorter "Kroko" pretty much everywhere (if it's not already in use by someone else) since 2002.

I used to claim my name had nothing to do with crocodiles but that was obviously a lie. Said animals are not special to me in any way, however.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I was banned from playing Kirby on Smash Bros. because I'd use his recurring attack cycle with melee weapons. My friends would call me Jedi Kirby when I did it, because I preferred the lightsword. I lost my zone password and when I started playing again, capslocked jEDIkIRBY by accident, and liked it. When I finally stopped lurking #Massassi and joined the forums, this was an obvious choice for names. Somewhere much later I realized jEDIkIRBY looked dumb, so I had JediGandalf change it for me.

I was going by BobaFett and joined a clan (SoM, Shadows of Mandalore) that already had a member with that name. I had been wanting to change it to something more unique anyway. Zul was in the same clan and suggested I use an elvish word from The Silmarillion, so he sent me a list of a few, with their meanings. It was between Eru and Aglar (Eru meant "the one" and Aglar meant "glory or brilliance"), and I think I went with Aglar because Eru looked too short. I'm pretty sure I was afraid if my handle was SoM_Eru people would constantly be asking me what ERU was an acronym for.

I kind of want to start using something completely original that has no meaning outside being an identify for myself (kind of like xkcd), but I haven't decided on what yet.

The character "Filbert" on Rocko's modern life used to say "Oh Fishsticks" all the time, and due to my lack of any endearing personal qualities, I imitate what I see in movie or television. The name stuck since we had like, 20 Michaels in my elementary class.

I was at a bowling alley for a summer camp, and my counselor suggested I change the "s" to a "z" to make it e x t r e m e

After that I needed a screenname for AIM, and massassi, and it stuck.

I think I put doorknob into the Zone name thing, but it was taken (one of those 'looking-around-the-room-for-inspiration' moments). One of the suggestions that came up was "Lividdoorknob", so I took that. The leader of a clan at the time (Sith Central) found it funny and invited me to try out for them. I got in, but SiCe_Lividdoorknob was too long a name so it had to be shortened to SiCe_LividDK. Then I faded away from the Zone scene and came here, so I dropped the clan tag and just used LividDK. Then I forgot my password after an extended absence and tacked on 27 to the end of it, since pretty much all my email accounts at the time were something_27@ whatever.

To this day I thought your name was Warlocksmith every time I read it.

Mine was taken from a fanfic EU that got denied publishing by Lucas' lawyers. It was originally ~yectiwan~ because I registered "yectiwan" but forgot the password. Soon after, at ZHoH stat started calling me Yectiwang and subsequently Mr. Wang and just Wang. When ~yectiwan~ reached 1337 posts I retired it and registered Yecti because that's what everybody in #massassi had taken to calling me anyways.

I usually use Warhead, which came about back in the days of Tribes. Me and a friend were infiltrating a base and talking on the phone and I went into a room and got jumped. I managed to kill everyone and just about everything in the room got destroyed in the process. My friend came in, said "jesus, did a nuke go off in here?" and so I changed my name to Warhead in the game as a joke....and...never changed it back.

As far as bobthemasher goes...well, I was 8, I needed a screenname on AOL, and I thought of the first thing I could that no one else would have. The underlying reasons are now lost to time.

Originally on here i was IS_Ford1342, IS from the Inner Stealth jk clan, Ford from Ford Prefect of HHG fame, and 1342 being my birthday and 42 of HHG fame.

i got tired of having the IS on there cause i was only a clan member for like 4 months, and i was going to retire the nick at 1342 posts, but i forgot, so i instead retired it at 2431 posts, and registered Ford.

now when i think of Ford, i dont reall think of HHG or the car company, i think of me, or Ford the Hero of NeS fame.

at some point Geb is going to tell us his story of the upside-down calculator.

back in the day i was 7 and that was just a random number because i couldn't think of a good nick. landfish was from the time of the infamous landbevars and i was an impressionable youth at the time so i took the 'land' part and combined it with 'fish' to become 'landfish'

Mine goes back to elementary school. My friend had the name blueboy_007. He lost password or something, changed to Greenboy_007. He then helped me make an email account, greenboy_008. I lost my password and became greenboy_009. He eventually stopped using that name. I also stopped everywhere but here. Eventually I got an admin to change it to Greenboy, cause that looks a lot nicer.

But now everyone just attributes it to my hippiness. :argh:

Back when the demo for Q3 came out, I needed a handle to play online with. My cousin at that point was a fan of the band Static-X, and he was over and the CD case was laying on the floor. So I thought, "that's cool," and named myself that minus the dash. When I joined Massassi, I didn't want to use my dumb Zone name, so I used StaticX again, despite the fact that I never liked the band. When I started spending a lot of time on #massassi, I would shorten it to stat`away or what have you. Eventually I just kept it shortened and lower-cased, since I didn't much care for the band, or the name, and there were too many people around with X in their name, anyway.

Rob is my name.

But no one actually calls me Rob in real life anymore, I prefer to be called Robert.
2008-02-20, 12:00 PM #40
I made this name for two reasons, the first being because I've always liked the Dark Jedis in the Star Wars universe, and the second being that if I could be any type of Jedi, I'd pick the rank of Knight, because anything lower than that means I'd still have to do training, and with the rank of Master I'd have to babysit somebody.

Though none of this really matters because most people attribute my name to Batman, which I was completely oblivious to the fact that he was also known as the Dark Knight when I made this name, but batman's awesome as well, so I guess it works both ways.

As far as the double underscores go, I actually think it was just a typo when I made the name, but I'm kind of glad that it happened because not many people have that in their names. :)
