Modifying the information under the posters username
2008-02-23, 8:41 AM #1
A long time ago it was posted that if you wanted the information under your user name changed to PM a moderator. Apparantly that was changed because Jon'C once said I was too stupid to find the option to change it. I believe that was a mistake because I've looked twice since he posted that.

Can the option to change it be given to the user rather than moderators (unless Jon'C was right and the user already has the ability to change it) or can it at least be restricted to one moderator that will not abuse their ability to modify it?

I ask because some cowardly moderator changed mine a couple times presumably because he disagreed with some posts of mine to insult me. It was originally something along the lines of "yeah, another one" which I guess was in reference to the "06" in my username.

I quite like the fact that people don't have power over their own ones, it stops them being all uppity about themselves.

:P

That being said, mine sucks ***.
nope.

I don't remember what mine is, but I like the fact that we can't change it. It's really not a big deal. Especially because you have no control.

I've had this since we first got personal titles.

Mine doesn't make so much sense now that the "006" is dropped from my name. I don't have anything better to put there, though.

I'm pretty happy with mine. Except for the unnecessary comma.

The past tense on it is wrong though. Unless you just don't want to pursue specialness anymore. Otherwise, you need to keep wanting.

Mine is stupid. I asked it to be changed, (I EVEN MAILED MATTY A REQUEST. ACTUAL MAIL) and it's still the same.

I like mine as well.

Mine's a bit dull and has been this way since we got personal titles. Someone thought that my username sounds like a drug. Admins are welcome to go nuts with it.

We were going to change yours to "Billo Coulter" when you started making idiot posts in the billo thread, but we realized you'd complain like a bleating cow if we did.

I think mine should be "XVII".
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I'm not important enough to get mine changed, so don't feel too bad.

Mine hasn't changed since the original thread when people got them, because: nobody cares! Duh

I don't know who set yours, but if anything this post seems to indicate that "I'm not happy" is a pretty appropriate title for you :colbert: The fact that people can't change them is part of the fun. Lighten up.

Glad you think so.

At some point in time he had posted a thread saying he wanted a custom title. He wanted to be special, so I made a note of that.

I'm not criticizing anyone. I *tried* to make a joke out of it but apparently failed.

I don't know why you say that. If it were Bill O'Coulter, that wouldn't bother me as much but I would prefer if it were some conglameration of Limbaugh, Coulter, Hanitty, and/or Beck. I tend to agree with them more than Bill.

The I'm not happy is fine. But this was done in response to my complaint that some coward changed it to the downs smiley. So they simply put the downs frown and the sub-text. I don't mind it being outside of the users control so much. I just find it repugnant that some cowardly moderators use it directly as a way to insult people.

Also, another point of this thread was to see if I was indeed too stupid and lazy to find the option or if Jon'C was full of it when he said that.

I got mine because Baconfish didn't know the real meaning behind my username and suggested this one. I don't particularly mind it anyway, since you can always make the argument about people being monkeys :P

It used to be "Insanely Humorous" (or something similar) because I made an M&S joke that all the Britassians loved. Proudest moment of my internet life, that was.
