If it were me who changed Wookie's title I would gladly own up to it. Moderators can't, however. Especially not moderators of crappy subforums about how much a specific forum member sucks. I, personally, wouldn't have put an image in his title because I don't feel Wookie deserves the distinction of being the only forum user with one.

I know who did change Wookie's title. He's not a coward, he's deliberately not revealing himself for the express reason that it drives him up the wall. So pretty much the same reason I insist there is a way for ordinary users to change their titles, but they just aren't smart enough to find it.

I've had mine for years. But what else would you put there? (Other than one of Rob's little slogans which are already old.) I don't care.

I know the nature of this thread contradicts my statements but I really am not offended by the custom title (thanks for posting the picture so that I now know the real term). I was annoyed initially when it was changed to simply a "downs smiley" and I respectfully requested it be changed back. Then it was changed to the current one which I think is pretty cool despite the fact that it is still meant as an insult. I'm glad you found so much pleasure in the three minutes I spent verifying that you were wrong about my being able to change it. I'm not sure I buy your claim that you said that knowing regular users can't change it. If you did, nicely played. That's three minutes of my life that I'll never get back.

I've never claimed or accused him of changing it and he's always claimed he hasn't. And calling someone a Pinhead or a kakdetty idiot to their "face" is far less cowardly than anonymously using administrator abilities to insult forum members.

I understand why people don't find the custom title so offensive but the context is missing here. The shenanigans started in a thread where I was defending an unpopular (at Massassi) position although, I must admit, I don't remember the exact topic. That is when some coward started with the downs smiley stuff.

It used to be here that you can't call something gay or retarded because it might offend someone who is gay or retarded. By that logic, I don't even understand why the downs smilies are even allowed but the simple fact that the staff condones using them to insult people, to me, seems like a contradiction of the forum rules.

Other than checking in to read the replies, I am essentially done with this thread. But some of the comments, like the one above, really remind me of how fun the original intent of the custom titles was. I just enjoyed it more when the staff made witty, harmless statements rather than simply making statements.

To be honest the whole thread is about how they're silly titles that often dont mean anything. You keep returning to complain about how yours is "offensive" (maybe thats too strong but you get the idea). Yes you dont like it, but you're not giving me any compelling reason to change it... especially since it is quite obvious you are not happy :p Its a stupid, meaningless emoticon. It does not give you some sort of negative social status. Take it at face (lol) value, it's just a frown.

I was simply reminded about how fun it was in the beginning. That was diminished, for me, when someone chose to use it to insult me. Again, I understand why some view this as an overreaction on my part but that is because the context from last summer is long lost. My current custom title doesn't bother me but it is more of a philosophical point for me. I am generally very respectful towards all forum members (although I admit to jabbing at those whom I occasionally get annoyed with) and I am disappointed that a member of the staff insulted me because he disagreed with me. I am also disappointed that nobody seems to understand my point. I don't care if you agree with it, but just understand it. I guess part of my opinion stems from the fact that I tend to hold the staff of high quality sites, such as this one, to at least a high standard of impartiality when performing their admin duties.

Again, no big deal. I just wanted to comment on how much fun I thought the titles were when they were first instituted. Some of them are really cool. Unfortunately, mine does remind me of an incident that annoys me. I guess that is where the dude that changed it draws his pleasure. My pleasure is that I know it doesn't bother me as much as he (and his lackies) think.

I do understand your point, but I'm trying to say nobody is out to get you. I have no idea who changed your title but I'm fairly certain that there is not a Anti-Wookie06 brigade. I'm not changing your title because... i should be doing work >_>. But also because I cant think of anything funny :p

I don't mean it like there is a big staff conspiracy or anything. More that nobody from the staff seems to care to agree with me (which is fine if they don't). To be honest, I don't really know who the staff is here anymore. I don't remember most by username. The member list is hidden. Tiltles don't usually help. I know there are forum moderators if I cared to look at who they are. I'm speaking in more general terms.

To change user titles you have to be an administrator.
