My nomination is Battlefield Earth.

I made the mistake of renting it once and there
was no plot, the characters made no sense themselves, and the whole damn thing was as appealing as a big piece of s*** left floating in a pool.

Dreamcatcher is about the worst I can think of right now. I couldn't even stand to sit through it I hated it so much... I ended up turning it off about halfway to three-quarters the way through.

Pearl Harbor. They managed to take an historical event and turn it into a girly romantic movie with disorted facts.

And by the way, dreamcatcher was brilliant. Maybe if you'd stuck around to catch the ending you would've realized that.

Just counting ones I've seen all the way through:

Rollerball. The John McTeirnan remake. Dear God. This man Directed Die Hard. DIE HARD. It's one of the greatest straight-up action films ever. And yet this befuddlingly bad remake has about 20 minutes of footage in vomit-enducing "nightvison shakeycam" as a STYLISTIC CHOICE. And then there's the acting. And the plot. And the dull, uninspiring character whom you don't/can't sympathise/identify with/like/care about. And the farcically absurb idea that the overly-complex, impossible-to-follow, impossible-to-play "sport" of rollerball (which has, for no particular reason, guys on motorcycles playing with guys on rollerblades) could become a worldwide phenomenon.

Any romantic-comedy with Julia Roberts.

Straight-to-video movies are great candidates for the "worst movie" position.

Dreamcatcher was AWESOME. Hell if for nothing else but the catch-phrases. "Jesus Christ Bananas". So randomly funny.

Worst movie ever? Gigli. Wow. Just...wow.

The worst movie ever is "Plan 9 From Outer Space." Movie experts will back me up on this.

Master of Disguise, and The Whole ten Yards are the worst movies I have ever seen. Dreamcatcher started off ok, but the ending was so incredibly awful, it wasn't even funny.

Rollerball's worse.

Mainly because Rollerball doesn't make me think of Johnny Depp in drag, which Plan 9 now does. And that is very much a good thing.

In all honesty, LOTR (animated version) WAS utter crap, but nowhere near as bad as "Wizards". Think the LOTR cartoon on speed trapped in a mental institution lined with flaming spike walls. LOTR was laughable. Wizards was so bad, that i couldn't even laugh at it.

Still, my pic for the worst is Battlefield Earth (looks like we're back to square 1). Having read the book half a year earlier, i watched it when it aired on TV, and rather punishingly forced myself to watch it. The book was utterly amazing, but the movie was terrible (It didn't even make it a third of the way through the book, and didn't even finish the story of the Human/Psychlo conflict).

that movie was good if you didn't think of it as a serious sci-fi movie but more of a comedy making fun of cheesy sci-fi movies... se a little sideways thinking can make something fun

and Dreamcatcher was a good movie with a final ending that wasn't as good as the alternate ending They also qualifies for alternate ending blowing the final ending away

I think basically ANY movie based off of a video game. Last night I got curious and made myself suffer through Tomb Raider... it was on TV. Ouch. :x

Oh, and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was pretty bad...

(I liked the Plan 9 from Outer Space reference, but I do believe that there are far worse)

Try Werewolf in a Girl's Dormatory, or the Beach Girls and the Monster, or possibly Spice World.

Battlefield Earth.

Manos wasn't actually that ba... wasn't that baaa.... hmm.. Lets try this fast. Manosthehandsoffatewasnotactuallyabaaaaaahh.. DAMN! Ok, it was a bad movie. But B.E. was much much worse.

And Plan 9 From Outer Space is a GREAT movie! A classic! Nothing like having an actor die in the middle of filming, so you just shoot the rest of his scenes with a new actor!
