Apparently Glock started producing their own night sights, and haven't been able to keep up with demand. I ordered this in early/mid March, and just picked it up last week.

Trigger safety - it needs to be depressed in order for the gun to fire...so if something catches the side of the trigger, it won't allow the trigger to move back.

Can't say I've seen that type of safety before. Although it looks a lot nicer to use than the ****ing grip safety on something like a 1911.

Ever shoot one? They always go bang - that's good for me. :)

I have no problems with the grip safety on my 1911 - it works fine, and isn't awkward to use at all.

I've shot a Glock before. It was the best gun I've shot. The other two being a model 1911 and...uhh...**** what was that one.

I haven't had the opportunity to shoot one yet - I bought a Glock because that was my duty gun at the time; fortunately, my new department also carries Glocks. I might pick up an XD sometime, though.

Bah for some reason I had it in my head that the USP also has that trigger safety, but apparently not.

I personally love Kimbers... the grip safety is actually pretty comfortable. It's the only 1911 I've fired though so I don't have anything to compare to.

Playing CS doesn't make you an expert on guns. In fact, it has a negative effect because they are so poorly represented.

I just bought a Mossberg 500 (with 28" AND 18.5" barrel, $278 out the door, Big 5). 8 out of 10 days left in the stupid waiting period.

I'm looking to pick up another .45 in the summer, after the super awesome hands-on gunshow (you actually get the fire the things, not just look at them). Recommendations? I'm thinking Sig P220, a Glock 21, XD 5" compact (zuh?), or possibly an HK (don't know much about them).

I currently own a Sigpro SP2009, a Browning Buckmark .22, a Savage .17HMR, and a Remington 770 .308WIN.

All us Calisassian gunslingers will have to go shooting sometime. You should come up to the gun show, Brandon.

I've heard good things about the XD series - haven't had a chance to shoot one, though. H&Ks are very nice, but a little pricey. I liked my issued Glock 21 - it's definitely a big gun, but it shoots quite nicely.

You live in california? That sucks. Here in oklahoma, when I got my 870, I went to wal-mart, and 30 minutes later walked out with it. I like the fact that you got two different barrels, I've been thinking about starting to make mine more interesting and personalized...

I was out of Impact Guns in less than 20 minutes with my 870. The pistol I have took five minutes because it was from an individual FFL dealer.

Very cool. My friends with concealed carry licenses both bought their guns at gunshows, so they only took a few minutes, too.

The California gun laws are pretty lame. There's a mandatory 10-day waiting period for any firearm, and only one handgun may be purchased every 30 days (no quantity limit for long guns).

There are also quite a few banned weapons (both pistols and "assault rifles"), as well as "large capacity magazines", which is magazine that can hold 10+ rounds.

I don't like the rules, but at least they're understandable. Our population density is quite high (particularly high here in the southern regions) compared to most places, and there's a lot more opportunity for firearm abuse. I can drive 150 up or down the highway, and the only way to tell where one city ends and the next begins is by looking at the signs. There's no space between cities like in other states.

That's the main difference I noticed when I moved out of CA, I was down in Oceanside, and got used to towns just blending into each other.
