So I decided to go skydiving the other day.
2008-06-01, 5:00 PM #1
So I went today. It was freaking awesome. I did bust my lunch about 15 feet off the ground, having nearly lost my boys to the opening shock, but that is a small price to pay for that much concentrated awesome.

Anybody else ever jumped out of an aerial vehicle?

I jumped out of a 757 once.

It was on the ground though.
2008-06-01, 5:07 PM #3
I'd really, really like to. If I can get a couple of friends on board I'd be all over it. Glad you had a good time.

What did it cost?
2008-06-01, 5:23 PM #4
190 for a tandem jump with tax and such.

The price just went up because of freaking expensive fuel costs. Not that bad all things considered, IMO. Don't wear a belt buckle, I think that contributed to my pukeage.

Please, mb, the plane wouldn't be able to lift you.
DO NOT WANT.

And if it could, you hitting the earth would be like the meteor scene from Deep Impact.
nope.

I jumped on my 20th, 14,001 feet.

I did jump actually, and it was really really incredible really. Pretty much really. Literally exhilarating in a way that makes more common uses of that word pale in comparison. Didn't lose my lunch, because I was smart enough to be VERY sure my "boys" were out of the line of fire.

My boys tend to cover a lot of territory, and have a habit of sliding down the leg of my tight woman wooing pants.

That's why you position them, then cinch up the harness so they can't slip under while you're doing whatever before the jump.

But it's not that important as long as they still work...?

I don't care if my boys are training soldiers properly, since it's probably a bad idea for people like me to reproduce anyway, it's just important that I can still fly the flag.

But yeah, thats the idea.

One of my friends really wants to go sky diving. We're going to give it a shot, but with my summer schedule, it may have to wait until fall.
Pissed Off?

I'm gonna try for it later in the summer, in August when my friend comes to visit. Looking forward to it

I plan on not ever jumping out of an airplane. It seems stupid to me to risk death and not gain.. well.. much of anything.

As you're probably aware, it's far less risky than driving your car around (and a host of other things)... and you GAIN plenty of intangible things from it, with the right mindset... clearly one you do not have! :argh::P

Stop eating candy.

And cut off your face bears, those things are dangerous.

I'm with you man, it sounds fun, but someone would have to plant a boot in the middle of my back to get me off the plane once I was up there.

Bah! Not only did every passenger successfully jump to safety, the pilot crashed landed JUST OUTSIDE the runway successfully and was not harmed. I'd much rather have a malfunction in a plane like that at altitude than in a commercial airliner.

Hey there,

I'm a sport skydiver. 48 jumps to date, still a newbie in that respect.

7000 feet is a comfortable height for a jump, easily a good 20 seconds of freefall before deployment. The plane crashing bit sucks though.

Skydiving is a safe sport when you actually take the time to research it. We've come a long way since the war and round parachutes. The majority of people who die skydiving are experienced skydivers who are pushing the sport to the limit.

Falling out of a plane is a sport now?
2008-06-02, 3:12 PM #32
Well, it's called "Sport Parachuting" as a pose to "Emergency Parachuting". It's classed as a sport by funding boards anyway.

Gaming is now a sport
Falling is now a sport

I'm just waiting for masturbation to be a sport now so I can be like a golden trophy winner.

Skydiving is not just "falling". Anyone can fall, but to fall in a controlled manor with precision isn't easy. That's why YOU aren't allowed to go up in a plane for a solo jump. You need to be trained.

There's plenty of competitions, and it's an outdoor activity, an "extreme sport" if you will. You can't compare it to playing a computer game on your fat *** indoors.

2008-06-02, 3:24 PM #36
Yeah especially cause if you were fat it'd have no advantage! You'd fall at the same rate.
2008-06-02, 3:26 PM #37
well.. maybe slightly slower due to greater surface area to create resistance.

That would make sense considering you're a 24 Carat Wanker.

:hist101:

Really though a sport is just a competetive activity with set rules, so if you could somehow lay down a set of rules you could turn jacking off into a sport.
nope.

That might be cool if you were so fat you could glide short distances on your rolls.

Participating in a spelling bee is considered a sport. It's true, I've seen it on ESPN.

Really. I'm not lying.
