I'm appalled that nobody has mentioned the Monkey Island games.

Also, I must second Neverhood. And I've never even played the game.

Also, Outlaws.

Deus Ex

One of the guys (basehead) who made some of the music for Deus Ex used to idle in #monkey-island many years ago. He had a reputation as an idler, and was rarely ever witnessed speaking. It wasn't until after the channel died and basehead vanished that I learned of his involvement with Deus Ex (and Unreal Tournament, as well).

You mean Alexander Brandon? I think he used to go by basehead.

Oh yeah, for some reason I also enjoyed the megarace soundtrack. Maybe its more for the nostalgia then anything.

Instead of games I'm going to list musicians that have made awesome game music. Not in any particular order.

-Alexander Brandon: Deus Ex, of course. Unreal 1 & UT as well as Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and Tyrian also deserve to be mentioned, even if I don't actually remember any specific great songs from those games.

-Chris Hülsbeck: Turrican games, especially Turrican II. Probably known by 2 people in North America but he's sort of a legend in Europe.

-Frank Klepacki: C&C games, Tiberian Dawn, RA and RA2 being my favorites. Sadly most people remember him from 'Hell March', which is not bad but everyone who only remember him from that one should go to hell.

-Jesper Kyd: Hitman games, especially Hitman 2. A lot of people criticized him from making more electronic-based music on Contracts but they're pretty dumb anyhow.

-Bobby Prince: Made music for Doom and Duke Nukem 3D among other games. Many songs were variations of existing rock songs (at least in Doom), but Duke Nukem 3D had a lot of solid new compositions. Most of them are midis but here's a cover anyhow (*cough*)

-Nobuo Uematsu: Main composer for Final Fantasy games, peaked at 6-8 (especially in 6) with some gems in 9 and 10 as well. Perhaps he made/makes a lot of typical RPG fluffy music, but there are a lot of neat gems there and there (Aria di Mezzo Caraterre in FF6, J-E-N-O-V-A in FF7 (hooray for Vangelis influences!), The Extreme in FF8...).

-Jeremy Soule: Best new Star Wars (game) music (among others) since Shadows of the Empire, haven't actually listened much to his non-SW works but he deserves to be mentioned anyhow.

I guess I lied on my first sentence, but here are some games that I remember having really groovy music at times but I don't even know most of the composers' names and stuff:

-Grim Fandango
-Megaman #
-Homeworld
-No One Lives Forever
-Phantasmagoria 2

And as usual, I probably forgot a great bunch of names and stuff.
