I got linked to this the other day. It's a bit of a piss-take, but I found it really funny.

Thanks Jim. I don't think it looks like the cemetery... but it doesn't look like Hogwarts either... also, in the second shot, I can pretty clearly see two people standing on the left side of the frame...

I just checked the GoF DVD, the background is clearly the same, but they exaggerated the light or something because it doesn't match perfectly... and the two figures I see in the second frame aren't in GoF...

update... warner in their infinite stupidity have pushed the release date back to july

let's see if the internet nerds and screaming children can convince them that it's stupid to announce a release date on a film and after the film is done push the date back stating "we want more money" while trying to toss in the writer's strike (yes the one that ended months ago) as a justification

WB announced the international release dates less than a week ago. Something about this is kind of fishy. Maybe it's just a stunt, and in a few days or weeks they'll change it back in apparent response to fan outcry.

Although, the press release mentioned the writers strike. Maybe movies WB would have been making during the strike would have come out 2009, and it turns out they don't have much going to so they're delaying over 8 months... pretty ****ing low, I think.

Plus, a bunch have magazines have already been featuring it in their fall movie preview... it's the cover of the next EW...

That video makes some very stupid and very wrong assumptions about how the publishing industry works.

Its stupid to turn a Summer Blockbuster into a Winter Blockbuster, especially since the most successful HP film was released in Winter.

2008-08-15, 9:19 AM #55
Err, the book she's writing isn't related to Harry Potter in the slightest apart from the fact that she's the author.
nope.

boco he might be referring to the beedle the bard thing... being released as a plain hardback and an expensive limited collector's edition

of course those books aren't going to add to her bank account the money from those goes to charity

You're an *******. Totally.

The new book she's releasing, Tales of Beedle the Bard, was a book she had originally hand-written 7 copies of. 6 she gave to her friends and people who had supported her, and the 7th was sold at auction to Amazon, for a whopping $4 million dollars.

And she donated every penny to charity.

Likewise, all royalties from the published version are going to charity. She won't be making a pound.

This is the 4th (that I can think of) major thing she's done for charity. She's already written two other books and a short story, and all the money from each went to charity. Royalties from the Scottish Book she has planned, the Harry Potter 'Encyclopedia,' will also go to charity.

So before you start ragging on Rowling, do some actual research. Just because she's rich doesn't mean she's greedy.
