Gotta say I rather like terraforming.

What I dont like is being unable to build an evil death armada and pwning the galaxy.

I'm partly through Tribal and I hate it.

Tribal was annoying, but Civilization seems like it's going to be fun.

Space is really effin hard. I want my planet destroying laser noooooowwwwww.

Yeah it is, because it seems that only other species can attack with more than 1 ship (aside from allies ships) Ultimately its pointless.

It sucks because you can't attack enemy ships in space unless you have that auto-turret (at least in early-space-game... haven't got very far because of that :suicide:).

This game = epic letdown.

Games with such huge hype always end up being a terrible let down. I've come to realise that people get lost in their expectations and when the box finally reaches their hands they don't really know what the hell it is that they really expected out of the game, and are left disappointed.

Some game developpers promise the sky, and the fanbase extrapolate their expectations and hopes ten fold.

I'm probably going to be terribly let down by Fable 2 and Fallout 3.

I've gotten everything I expected, and I know I'm going to replay this game a lot.

I think people WANT to be let down a lot of the time.

There is a good reason why this mantra exists:

"Expect the worse and you'll never be disappointed"

Once in space mode, keep a ratio of penis-inhabited planets to non-penile planets you visit.

When I do get the capabilities (haven't bought it yet), I plan on wiping out as many penis planets as possible.

OR, just set it to friends-content-only.

Only now? I got to space in one playthrough.

I spent a lot of time customizing, and that 5 hour playthrough was basically the only time I got to sit down and play it for longer than 30 minutes.

About being letdown: tell me about it.

I think what sucks the most is that when designing a creature/ship, it doesn't matter at all where or how you put your add-ons/accessories. The only thing that matters is the "trait" of the modification (+speed, +health, etc). In fact, it doesn't even really matter what add-on you choose if they both give the same traits. For example, adding a missile launcher with 2 +combat's will give the same stats and even the same attack animation as adding say, a minigun with 2 +combats.

So basically, the part that was going to be fun about this game - designing creatures/ships based on how the individual parts function - isn't even part of the game anymore, since all the parts have pre-determined stat boosts that aren't affected by placement. You could put claws facing backwards and the combat bonus will be just the same as if you put it somewhere that actually makes sense.

Yeah, that is rather annoying. It's also annoying how I have to decorate my creature with a bunch of leaves and **** just to be able to make allies.

That's because of the DRM, though, not the actual game. I doubt there's a single low rating that is bashing the game and not the DRM, haha.

I know. Hopefully Amazon doesn't change it, and EA gets the message.

Anyway, the DRM is part of the product. It's not like... that one book a while ago where everyone slammed her reviews because of something she said in an interview. In this case, the DRM comes with the game, it's part of it, it's intentional, and it's perfectly valid to give a game a low score based on that.

If Amazon changes it, they'll just get the flood of hate instead of EA.

I'm buying this game, as I played it on a friend's laptop it's awesome, and the developers deserve some credit for an inventive game. But then I'm also pirating it, so I don't have to bother with the DRM crap. This is what I had to do with Doom 3, just to make the ****er install.

Read several of the reviews.. while the DRM isn't popular at all, a lot of people take issue with the game itself. The main complaint seems to be the creatures are merely cosmetic. Nothing you do changes anything at all except the looks.
