It has been exactly 7 years since the terrorist attacks on America. I don't normally do things like this, but even though this is something that some people have come to think of as a cliché I think we should at least still recognize this day and remember it for what it was.

Many innocent lives were lost that day, and countless more afterwords. I just wanted to make this thread for everyone to take a minute away from the typical discussions here and remember those who lost their lives. Feel free to talk about your experiences that day if you wish.

Oh, didn't realize it was today. Ah, that explains why there were armed personal with body armor and M16s patrolling the subways and Grand Central in NYC today. Usually it's NYPD cops chatting to each other, oblivious to what is happening in the crowd.

The M16s they were using had grenade launchers too. Interesting.

I'm sorry, but it's completely appropriate. I'm sorry for the people that died on that day, but the war cry that was started as a result of September 11 is of greater importance than the events themselves.

I'm sorry for those who died just like I am for a stranger that died of cancer or was killed in a car accident. People die before their time, and it sucks. Getting on the ground and crying doesn't make the events go away, they just reinforce this idea that the Middle East is filled with evil terrorists that we need to kill.

When's the memorial for the million dead Iraqis?
