Hey! I have a glass of Johnnie Walker Gold Label scotch in my glass right now. I dropped a lot of money on this bottle in celebration of...well, I don't know but I opened it and that's celebration enough, right?

I'm a big fan of Forty Creek and Jamesons. I love scotch, but only they more pricey single malt stuff. Consequently, I don't drink scotch very often.

Bourbon whiskey != Whiskey

But anyways, now that I live in the home of Bourbon I do drink a lot of Bourbon. I already drank a **** ton of whiskey before moving here.

Okay, fine. I can't rebut with pictures because I don't keep any whiskey on hand. :(

You're in Kentucky?
? :)

Yes, I moved to Kentucky in July.

The new friends I've made here basically drink coffee all day and whiskey all night.

During the black outs from the apocalypse winds on sunday we rolled through the neighborhoods drinking expensive bourbon and climbing buildings in the dark with a grappling hook someone bought on e-bay.

It would be interesting to see some experimental data about aging. I imagine that after a while, the effects of aging start to diminish. I don't know... something about all those booze snobs paying thousands of dollars for exactly the same thing I can get from the top shelf at the local liquor store is a hilarious prospect.

The interesting thing about whiskey is that once it hits the glass bottle it stops aging. those that have been in the casks longer pick up more flavour from the wood of the barrels, giving it a more complex taste.

and scotch whiskey must be aged for a minimum of 10 years. its the law.

^^ I see things haven't gotten any better ^^

I guess I had bad whiskey but I can't stand that ****.

In fact, I really can't stand most hard alcohols. Jägermeister and rum are the only two that are tolerable to me.

Guys most whiskey really doesn't change after 18-20 years and as stated, doesn't really age in the bottle anyway.

Jack Daniels is so harsh because it's like four years old, whereas something like Jameson is like 18.
