I believe Bagels originated in Europe.. Poland to be precise? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

That could well be true. From my experience they seem to be far more popular in North America these days, though. They aren't something that immediately spring to mind when you consider British culture, for example, but for me they have strong ties to the NY lifestyle.

Bagels seem to have originated in Eastern European/Russian, brought to North America by Jewish immigrants.
