"Baby," is a common word you'll hear me use in reference to almost everyone. I say "Cats" and "Kids" to refer to a group of people. "Righteous." is a new word that I've used a lot recently. "Epic!" is another commonality. Not sweet, but "sweetness." "F***-ton." "Mighty." "S***-yeah."

What kinds of slang words do you use?

I say "dude" a lot. And "no worries".

That's about it, though.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Dude, Legit, Tight are some of my common ones. Instead of saying "See you later" I usually say "Take it easy". I don't know why, its just become a habit.

"Embrace death"

"Patience...discipline..."

I say swank and swell once in a while just to keep people on their toes.

C**t

I find myself using the word static lately in reference to a stationary/non-changing thing, person, or idea.

As far as slang, lush (short for lucious, not the drunk meaning) mad ______ (fill in the blank), dude, s**t-ton (picked that up from emon I believe), legit which was also mentioned, dynasty occasionally (ex. "Dude the pizza over there, effin dynasty") and sometimes adding -icle -tastic or -ball onto various words out of satire type anger. (ex. -green arrow trafficlight and man in front of me isnt moving- "GO you effing tw**ball!!".

I say swank a lot too. Zing, Oh Snap, F***ot and N***a, depending on the crowd (Gay friends for the first, certain black friends for the latter). My director has me saying B****in' since last weekend when I met her.

'Wicked' is a word all Rhode Islanders use way too much, but I simply abuse the word. My L.A. friends pointed that out to me over the summer. Also c**t is a word that gets combined with many other words to make all sorts of wonderful new phrases.
Think while it's still legal.

Dude, dope (for cool/neat/awesome whatever), legit. Occasionally "Mad" for "very" ("That's mad cool") or "Bomb" for awesome ("That's a bomb setup!")

I also tend to insert "like" to pad sentences (but not nearly as much as "Valley girls" stereotypically do)

That's about it. Most of the time I speak pretty properly.

Oh yeah, and since the days of AOLers I have refused to ever use 'lol' seriously online and instead spam "haha" and recently "el oh el".

Edit: also I am relieved to see that so far no Norcal Massassians have posted "hella," which is the bane of Socal and the rest of the world.

I don't know. I call people "man" and "dude". I say "I'm psyched" about stuff. On the more vulgar, I say "f*** it" "f*** that" and things like jesus f***ing christ". Come to think of it, I probably use a lot of blasphemous slang.
2008-09-21, 8:33 PM #21
i've been saying "oh dear" and "goodness gracious" a lot lately. dont know where that comes from. "what up" is a common one too. of course "dude," and i am also guilty of callin people "cats" occasionally going the extra mile and calling females kittens. usually i dont really pay much attention to what i say to people cause i tend not to talk to too many people.
My girlfriend paid a lot of money for that tv; I want to watch ALL OF IT. - JM

Lately I've been using the word "clutch" to describe something that is cool, or, if it's REALLY cool, something is "automatic."

Sick dude (I also say that a lot), I live like 30 minutes from Portland, in Brunswick, and visit it frequently. I was just there actually. That's kinda crazy.

Yea, I just was in Brunswick (well Tompsham) to get a TV @ Best Buy (maine mall was all out) but the TV sucks lol. (Don't buy Insiginia)

It largely depends on who is around me. I'm pretty vulgar around my friends, and I blame it on watching too much Trailer Park Boys one summer. The eff word comes out of me a lot, as in "for **** sakes!" and "don't you have some offs to ****?" I also say "balls" a lot, in response to something disappointing or frustrating.

For something not involving a curse, I usually say "tad" to describe a small amount of something. Like "I'm a tad pissed that I missed the bus."

But that's only because everyone I know is an elitist in at least one way.

I use "hella" all the time. I have for years, long before some *******s tried to make it hip. It rolls off the tongue so quick and tightly sandwiched between other words nobody even really notices the word itself. They just subconsciously better comprehend whatever point I may be making thanks to it's existence. Of course there are plenty of times and plenty of places in which it doesn't belong.

I think I use a lot of Britishisms and unswears.

I always say "werd" and type it that way too now. Ever since I started getting high for some reason.

I also made up a few words like "nuggly" (to describe how I'm feeling when I'm high). In common conversation I seem to use "b***h" a lot as well.

Stop. Moving. Closer to me. Both of you.

On that note, remember that you're now 25 minutes from me. I can find you.
