So long story short, I live across the street from a high school. Every day the parents come to pick up their kids with a complete disregard for everyone else. Keep in mind my town is only about 1.5 sq miles, so there really is no reason why everyone drives to the school.
Every day I get about 4 or 5 people who park their Range Rovers and various other SUVs in front of my driveway. I live in the suburbs, not sure why they have those cars anyway.
It would be one thing if they were getting out of the way of a fire truck (which they dont) or if it was only a 2 second thing. It never is though. There is plenty of parking in front of them. Enough for another 3 or 4 Range Rovers. Then when I attempt to ask them to move, I get met with hostile and/or clueless attitudes. It appears that these parents have to be directly in front of where teh school exit is in order to pick up their children. It leads to stupidly dangerous traffic patterns. It's next to impossible to cross that road without almost being hit and the fact that huge cars are blocking access to the sidewalk makes it even more dangerous. It's pretty bad when I don't even want to go outside during the school traffic hours because I know theres a chance of some idiot blowing a stop sign.
Oh, they also park in the fire lane too which is just great.
So i've taken down a few plate numbers and asked a few people to move, but it doesn't seem to help.
I'm thinking about handing this article out to the people who block my driveway though:
