Yeah, Bush dodging it was awesome for sure.

That makes bush look a lot less secure. That dude had a wind up and got a second shoe out before secret service were even near him. I was also surprised that bush faded into the crowd instead of being whisked away, or immediately surrounded by security.

Furthermore, if I were Bush I'd be worried that someone was about to shoot me, since that was a pretty god damned big riot that happened because a dude threw shoes. Looked like there was more than an opportune moment for someone to shoot or something.

Lastly: Holy **** he dodged quick. The man's squirrelly.

Scarier than when someone tried to kill him with a grenade?
nope.
2008-12-14, 6:23 PM #44
When the hell did that happen?
2008-12-14, 6:44 PM #45
In 2005 in Georgia.

It landed quite a bit away and it didn't go off, but some bloke still threw a live grenade at him.
nope.

If i understand correctly, throwing a shoe at someone, is in the sandpeople culture a sign of serious disrespect. No wonder, though.

I find it funny that Bush smirks after the first shoe is thrown, almost as if he thinks its fun.

It almost look like Bush is smiling as he's coming back up after ducking the first shoe...

the shoe was the only weapon the guy could've gotten into the friggin room. safest friggin place if conventionally attacked

That's 'cause he is. He clearly thinks it's hilarious. This is the best shoe-related incident in international politics since Khrushchev.

Wouldn't it be awesome if the secret service had came out and shot the guy down? Just unloaded half a clip each and killed the guy.

I dream of this! :awesome:

Or imagine Bush coming down and giving the guy a Texas whipping! :awesome:

After laughing until my ribs cracked, I would probably make a "pwnt" gif out of it and make it a forum signature/avatar.

Quote:
The journalist, Muntadar al-Zaidi, screamed in Arabic, “This is a farewell kiss, you dog. This is from the widows, the orphans and those who were killed in Iraq." Al-Zaidi works as a reporter for the Cairo-based satellite channel Al-Baghdadia TV. Security guards removed him from the room while reportedly kicking and beating him. He is still being held by Iraqi officials. Al-Baghdadia TV has called for al-Zaidi’s release.

...

At a demonstration in Sadr City earlier today, protesters called for the release of Muntadar al-Zaidi, while throwing shoes at passing US military vehicles.
