Committee Conspiracy (forum game)

You speak wisdom, thoughtful Ford, but it would not look good for a committee member to change his or her call once made, for the public may then think ill of our inability to stay the course, as it were. I must, therefore, keep with my initial rejection.

Also, while the committee is yet unable to hear the considerations of a sudden stranger from the public, we may wish in the near future to consider his approval as a new committee member, as well as a concern that one of our own may not be wearing pants.

I deserve to be on this committee! I object to the ignoration of my demands! I demand that my voice - THE PEOPLE'S VOICE - be heard!

Sir happydud, as of yet there are no procedures in place for adding new members to the committee, other than by the proposal and subsequent vote of the members itself. if you have patience such a procedure may be proposed by the committee at a future date. as there is no procedure to address the committee or petition for a rule, you will be ignored until such time as a procedure is in place.

Also, good Sir happydud, your zeal is admirable, but if you continue to act as you do, we will be forced to propose and pass a rule that throws you out of this committee room!

By Sir Ford's own admission, there are no procedures in place. Therefore, I am implementing a new procedure. The first new Member to be demanded to be accepted into the Committee takes priority over all other issues. This only applies to the first instance of this, and after that it must be proposed by a Member.

I already have 2 votes, where the simple majority minimum is 4. I demand to hear the rest of the votes.

There are, however, procedures for who and when rules may be proposed, of which you are not in adherence to now. Also, nobody has voted on anything...

Now please, we're in the middle of very important matters on whether to accept or reject whether one must say "yea" instead of "yay" at this time.

I must concur with Ford. I vote YAY. And, I believe, that enacts Ford's proposition as rule #6.

I would also like to point out that I am pointedly ignoring all threats on my person by the rabble-rousing audience. If Happydud wished to join this committee he should have spoken up while we were passing out tickets. His intrusion now is as disgraceful as it is childish.

Furthermore, I encourage all committee members to consider carefully any proposals that open this committee to exterior influences, be it new members or audience suggestions. I would believe that we are a friendly group and able to act decisively on all matters due to our minimum size. We do not wish to become an impotent entity such as the United Nations, slowed to obsolescence by our swelling membership.

Unless I missed it, kyle has yet to vote and he may vote no, in which case we have a tie.

I apologize. It appears I counted Baconfish as both a nay and a yea.

In this case, it behooves Kyle90 to vote Yea, so that he may immediately make a proposal of his own.

I fear nothing. However I cannot see how I will ever support someone who so rudely interrupts our peaceful congregation!

Would you support Genghis Khan if he broke into your bedroom and held an axe made of human bone over you?

Can rule #4 be construed to apply to the voting process as well?
2009-01-14, 1:16 PM #56
I'd be fine with that personally.
nope.

I would not object if the Fair and Wise Councilor Grismath were to make a proposal now.
2009-01-14, 10:16 PM #60
Neither would I, as it would appear kyle90 is paying less attention to these very important committee decisions recently.

Councilor Lord Grismath supposes that it's only fair that he propose a rule.

He proposes thusly:

Rule #8, the Fair and Wise Act

The Fair and Wise Councilor G shall pray relinquish his Seat upon the Committee, instead assuming the role of Minister of Kindness to Orphans and the Treasury (MKOT for short).
In his stead, the Committee shall elect by simple majority a new Councilor from a pool of no greater than Three Candidates. The winner, before assuming office, must complete three Trials, to be decided by the Five Remaining Committee Members in a future rule.

The Committee shall be fixed at Six in number unless explicitly overturned by a future rule and future appointments to the Committee can only occur if a Councilor steps down, is somehow impeached, for instance, for prolonged absence.
Cordially,
Lord Tiberius Grismath

I must vote NAY! Not because your rule is not fair and wise, but because you know too much dirt on your fellow committee members to be allowed to leave!

I shall vote YEA if the following amendment is applied to this proposal :

Your new title shall be Minister of Funky Kindness to Orphans and the Treasury. MFKOT for short.

I must vote no as well, for the Fair and Wise Grismath is far too valuable of a committee member to lose.

nope.

i too shall vote nay, as gris is far to good at talking like a ponce to let out of the committee.

Now there's some confusion because 2 of our members voted with conditionals...isn't that against the rules?

There does not exist a formal procedure for handling amendments at this juncture. Therefore, the rule proposal (unchanged) fails. Shucks.

Councilor Lord_Grismath is miffed that kyle90 has somehow left the committee without going through the policy hoops Grismath has tried to set up and suggests someone propose impeaching kyle90. This is so unfair! :gbk:
