Wow more students here than I thought.

What's everyone's goals?

I'm smart but a total under achiever and apathetic. I really don't give a crap. I'd like to make a ton of money, but I don't feel like applying myself in school to learn the things that could allow me to make money. I'll probably just end up managing a restaurant or something, I've always loved the food service area.

Oh yeah, and no classes for me because I graduated -- booyah! I might start a "what are you reading?" thread though...

It's about improvising music, which usually comes down to playing huge solos. It's basically playing really excessively hard jazz tunes. As to what it involves...well, a lot of practise.

You mean you don't get taught techniques on how to improvise, you just are expected to pull off random solos?

Fincham: Where are you going?
Me: I have no idea
Fincham: I meant where are you sitting. This wasn't an existential question.

Move overseas and work with some sort of Christian mission, perhaps in Central Asia. I'm not too concerned with making a lot of money, so long as I find purpose in what I do.

No, the material gets broken down pretty thoroughly. Like showing the chords, the scales, the devices, the famous solos by famous players. But you have to pull all that stuff together in the woodshed so you can actually play the tunes.

To finish out my philosophy degree, I only need 6 credits. I'm taking:
Senior Seminar (Philosophy)
and Musical Theatre

As to why i'm in the musical theathre course . . . I'm still not completely sure and now even less sure since all of my classmates (who are theatre majors) have apparently been asking behind my back what I'm doing in the class.
