This is a big deal and you should know about it, because I'm ignoring you.

Discovered! :P

Actually, originally, I couldn't find the ignore function. But yes, I think it was pretty obvious who I was ignoring and why. Considering our admins opted to remove our ability to delete a post, I thus had the choice to leave the post as is or turn it into another "Kirby, I'm sick of your constant malcontent ranting about EVERYTHING" post which have served nothing in the past and will therefore continue to serve nothing.

That former 11th Grade economist also seemed to forget that Keynesian economics failed miserably in the 1970s and culminated with a recession, because Keynesian economics had NO ****ING CLUE HOW TO DEAL WITH STAGFLATION (you know, that possibility was mostly ignored in Keynes' Philips Curve). Volcker saved the country with monetary policy, not fiscal policy. Keynesian Economics died in the 70s. We have neo-keynsian now, which is slightly different because it has much more of a classical micro foundation. It

Free-market economists are not on a whole saying the stimulus won't work (although I'm sure many are). What they are worried about that a stimulus plan of this magnitude in the long run will stifle the private sector, which a stimulus will naturally do. In the short run you get the artificial boost in Aggregate Demand, in the long run, you get a potential crowding out of private investment.

Keynes always said that fiscal policy would only work when we have a pretty constant high unemployment level. I'm not sure if we have a constant yet, so I bet even he would be wary still on whether to implement the stimulus or not.

It is also INCREDIBLY short-sighted to say that the current crisis is due to EVIL CAPITALISM running it's roots. Let's not forget a certain Federal Reserve Board did not help with things in the early 2000s. Inflation (for one) is a monetary phenomenon, and in our country, the Fed is in DIRECT control of it. You can blame banks, you can blame people, but the Fed if anyone deserves equal or even more of the blame.

You could also make a pretty good economic argument using some Lucas theory that rational expectations for people will naturally reign in our spending as we see the [inevitable after this stimulus bill] tax increases, and we might just not get that magical multiplier that Keynes' loved.

Howbout we do revert back to the 1920's? Then fedoras would actually be in style again. (despite belief by some that they are in style now..)

Why do you have a problem with someone sharing their opinion? I didn't do anything wrong, it's just that me typing a paragraph bugs you. I don't understand why you'd go on a website where the idea is to read the opinions of others, and then get upset about having to not read over a paragraph of text? I'm really having a hard time figuring out why you've turned into such a pansy and tightpantsed.

All I know is that the dollar rose to nearly 15 pesos a day or two ago... and that WASN'T good for a client who needed to buy some computer parts from a local distributer that deals in dollars... it appears the dollar is going down again, currently at 14.61 pesos.
Nothing to see here, move along.
