This seems a lot more interesting than Deus Ex 3: A Lost Opportunity Invisible War 2. Especially if they're going to improve on Bioshock like SS2 improved on System Shock.

Yeah, it's such a shame to have the 2007 GOTY rear it's ugly head again.

Bioshock wasn't bad, but you guys hyped it up too much here, and by hyped it up I mean kept saying BIOSHOCK in various colours and sizes =p
Admittedly I got pretty far into it before it felt too formulaic, and even then I played through to the end, I enjoyed it.
I'll play the sequel, but I won't be joining you in the the random colours and sizes unless I start hearing some really amazing things about it =p

I'm excited about it because Bioshock did exactly what I hoped it would. It's not a revolutionary game by any stretch of the imagination, but it aced exactly what I value most highly in a game: Atmosphere and Story. It is the shining example of how to pull off an engaging story that doesn't interrupt gameplay, in one of the most cohesive, well designed atmospheres in gaming since System Shock 2.

If BIOSHOCK 2 can pull off half of what Bioshock did, it will still rank in my favorite games of all time, and if it goes above and beyond.. well.. I'll be a happy stickz.

Yeah, for me Bioshock was very good atmosphere up until the game became too formulaic and then the immersiveness was lost, and it was obvious I was playing a game (if you know what I mean).
Worst part was near the end when you were working with a normal girl, and you had to defend her for x seconds while she 'harvested', and then again, and then -again-
But don't take my criticisms too harshly, like I said I enjoyed the game. It was good, really good.

Bioshock was undoubtedly a fun game. Recently when playing Fallout 3 and entering a building with lots of tapes to collect and listen to while hunting through a hunted building, I was reminded how much I enjoyed that method of revealing stories.

The Big Sisters sound dumb, though.

Morrowind was an amazing game. Just not for first person shooter junkies looking for a quick fix of action.

Man, I adored Morrowind and found Bioshock kind of boring.

It's almost like we have differing tastes and opinions when it comes to video games? No that can't be it, preferences are facts, not opinions. I guess Morrowind doesn't deserve any of its praise because it wasn't Halo.

Cool thread guys, you've really given me new perspective.

Actually I share the same view as Jin and yourself. I just didn't express myself very well in my post. Opinions are not facts. What I should have said is that I found Morrowind to be an amazing game, and that not all people have the same tastes.

It was mainly for Ford and Echobutt. I get tired of people criticizing Morrowind as if it were supposed to be an action game that you could just jump in to and start kicking arse.

I hope Bioshock 2 won't have more of that MOTHER****ING HACKING MINIGAME. arg.

The hacking minigame in System Shock 2 was quick and fun. In Bioshock it was a kludge.

I loved the hacking minigame. But then it's exactly the same as an old DOS game I used to play the hell out of so that's probably why.

If you said Morrowind with mods, then I would agree it would be acceptable and enjoyable. But heaven forbid some people don't like repetitive action spanning a huge, brown landscape with unnecessarily long travel times.

But don't mind me I'll just go back to playing HALO, DERP.
