I had a bad guinness last night and a carlsberg and then I remember why I hate lager.

Then I moved onto copious amounts of cider and good times were had by all.
nope.

The weekend still has plenty of time left ..
Most likely some IPA to get me started then some cheap booze to finish the job.

I just made a beer milkshake with Oskar Blues Ten FIDY Imperial Stout and vanilla ice cream. Delicious. Ten FIDY, by the way, is the best beer ever to be put into cans.

Last night, the Flying Saucer had a keg of this baby:

Double ******* Ale. Instantly one of my favorites, but you can't get it in bottles in this state because of some rude things that are said on the label.

Not sure what I'll be drinking over spring break though. All that's in my fridge right now is two bottles of Sierra Nevada Torpedo, one more can of Ten FIDY, and some assorted Shiner that I'm hoping visitors will drink.
If you think the waiters are rude, you should see the manager.

Stone's infamous text-on-bottle:
We're brewers whoe substantial mettle and idomatic approach to brewing allows us to consistently create works of art such as this justifiably self-righteous ale. Its bitterness hits our sweet spot. Its blackness lightens our hearts. Its liquid dichotomy pulls it all together in this sublimely sacrosanct ale. Yes, we damn well know our stuff here at Stone, and it would be irresponsible of us not to acknowledge how remarkable this heavely creation of ours is. Thus the name we are compelled to give it -- Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale -- serves as a reminder of just how good we are, in both liquid and verbal form.

We're certainly not perfect. To often, we allow our modesty to get the best of us as we're simply not inclined towards senseless braggadocio. When you're good, you're good. And when you do something great, the least you can do is acknowledge it. Others benefit from knowing. In this case, we find that we are compelled to point out how amazing this beer is that we rightly call the Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale.

First brewed in 2007 as the Stone 11th Anniversary Ale, this beer was an instant hit. With us. Other folks with great taste loved it too, but we were focused on how much we liked it, and felt it was truly sublime. That euphoria, didn't last long thought, as it was soon replaced with the grim reality that when we sold out of it there wouldn't be any more. For us. And that was simply unacceptable. So, we are now blessing ourselves, and you the enlightened, with this beer on a fulltime basis. Thusly, you may now revel in your own self-righteousness as you see fit with this glorious example of ours. You are genuinely welcome, as it is our pleasure.
I am being self-righteous tonight!

I'll sell you my urine for $10. It's a good deal cause it's cheaper than PBR and still better.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

I haven't ever seen Sublimely Self-Righteous here either. We seem to be limited to the more common Stone beers in Texas. :(

- Dogfish Head ApriHop
- Victory Prima Pils
- North Coast Scrimshaw Pilsner
- Widmer Brothers Drifter Pale Ale

ApriHop is like a more substantial, hoppier Magic Hat #9. In other words, pretty okay.

Currently battling the two pilsners (Prima and Scrimshaw) against each other before I head out for the night. Scrimshaw is winning.

Lord Kuat: Orval is great stuff. I don't think there's another beer in the world quite like it. And if you like drinking beers as black as night, you should try my all-time favorite, Yeti Imperial Stout. Just like with Rasputin, if you hold it up to a light you can't see anything shining through.

Thanks for the suggestion man, I'll try it out.

Also try Old Engine Oil. The best dark beer I've ever had.

I'm about 2 hours away from tapping Rogue's Shakespear and Kell's. My boss wants to do black and tans, I think the stout is too heavy, but he insists. So, between those, Lagunitas Maximus, and probably some DTs if I can stomach them tonight. I need to go get some Bailey's though.

New beer store I discovered yesterday has sixers of something called Lagunitas Undercover Investigation Shut-Down Ale. I am terribly intrigued, but the $12 price tag is making me nervous about that kind of investment.

$12 for a six? I've bought single 12oz costing that much before. :suicide:

I tend to buy a whole six at that price only if it's something I'm confident I'll really like.

I'm guessing the $10 bottle was Dogfish Head 120?
