Something for massassi to talk about again! (punk kids)
2009-03-24, 4:06 PM #1
So remember those punk kids I complained about a week or two ago who were smoking and drinking "something" in front of my house?

I just took pictures with my telephoto lens dealing drugs to some other kids in a car, with pictures of a ball of "whatever" which was yellow/brown/green, and watched them smoke it in their car before driving off. Both license plates.

now what should do I do? I've never delt with this stuff firsthand before.
Report them to the sheriffs office? wait for them to do it again?

I've confirmed the kid that was driving the car that "delt" the drugs lives in my neighborhood.

This took place right in front of my house. I took the pictures from my bedroom window :P.

[edit] oh and I saw him take a large white bag of "something" and put it in his trunk.
And his friend holding a bag full of plastic easter eggs...?

post the pictures on the internet!

report them to the local authorities if you really want something done about it. if you want them to just do it somewhere else, i recommend what was suggested in the last thread and just talk to them.

Yeah, I'd go to the PD and give them the pictures, let them deal with it. You shouldn't face those kids... they'll just be more of a pain in the a** then before.

This is kind of how I feel. Before you do anything, consider whether you really want to see these kids charged with crimes, possibly felonies.

Me? Personally? I'd go outside and join them.

I'm not anti-drugs or anything but, where I live, drug-dealing teenagers tend to be scary bastards with knives; I'd happily call the cops.

Guys, what's important here is WHY DID ONE GUY HAVE A BAG OF EASTER EGGS?

And I'm going to report them tommorrow.

Thinking about it more, do you know them personally?
Just make sure they aren't going to come trash your ride or something later on if they find out it was you.

cops. the easter eggs were probably painted balls filled with heroin or something.

I'm thinking he should ignore them on second though.
Let's say I were these kids .. and Vegar got me busted...Payback would be in order.

They are breaking the law. This kind of mentality is what causes neighborhoods to go to hell in the first place. If you stand by and do nothing, you're contributing to the problem.

Now, Veger, I can't believe you're asking for advice on how to handle this situation, when the answer is so bloody obvious. Call the police, and report a crime. Don't stand for that crap in your neighborhood, or the next thing you know, you'll have kids walking around selling heroine and cocaine to your children, and driveby shootings and such.

[edit: and Squirrel King, that's the most cowardly advice I've ever heard.]
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Id probably call the cops. something similar happened in my neighborhood. It escalated to bottles being smashed in my lot, cars broken into, and one car stolen.

Sarn .. I used to be the guy parking in front of Vegar's house. If Vegar caused me to get arrested, my friends and I would have Frakked him up, hardcore.
That's all.
I'm just saying, he should consider the fact that they are not really harming him, and they might harm him if he does this.
It's not cowardly advice, it's thinking the big picture.
2009-03-24, 8:37 PM #22
How would they know it was him who did it? Confronting them personally would be more dangerous from that perspective.
2009-03-24, 8:37 PM #23
what? are you insane? how would you even know it was him who called the police on them? he never talked to them before. it could have been any of the numerous residents or passerbyers

2009-03-24, 8:41 PM #24
Other than being in front of his place, I don't know. Yea if you know you could get away with it, do it. But if you think they could figure out it was you, don't.
2009-03-24, 8:47 PM #25
The only reason I never called the cops on my drug dealing neighbors was because I knew the cops were planning on raiding their apartment anyway :ninja:

Just call the police and let them handle it. It's not like youre the only house on the block. Squirrel King is just paranoid.

He posted here for advice. I gave it. That's not being paranoid.
In his last thread, and my first post on this one, I said to call the police.
Upon thinking about it more, I said he might want to take caution. That is out of personal experience being the person he is talking about dealing with. That's all. I have not told him to do something yet, I've told him to take things in consideration.
2009-03-24, 9:03 PM #27
sorry that was meant to me kind of sarcastic :P

I see your point, but I also think its highly unlikely theyd be able to single him out for it.

And what exactly is "the problem?" A few kids "dealing drugs" is hardly a problem. It's hard to tell from where I'm standing, but they seem like just a few kids that want to get high.

The "problem" is that if these kids had any regard for consequences, they'd be doing this all in a more discreet manner. We can make a safe assumption that these kids aren't exactly cream of the crop. I wouldn't want these sorts in front of my house, especially if I wanted to leave or for any reason be in physical proximity to them.

Sure, they can do whatever, in the sanctity of their own homes or somewhere somewhat secluded, like a park, lot, or maybe in front of their own homes, whatever.

It's a generalization, but these kids are probably trouble, who may get bolder in what they do, or will start to leave a mess. At the very least, they make straight laced people uncomfortable in their own homes, that's bad enough.

I dunno, but drug dealing isn't exactly the sign of prosperity and security.

You know, the sort of places most people want to live.

Report the little bastards, don't confront them (as if they cared they what you thought they wouldn't be doing it in plain sight anyway). However, good luck getting the police to respond in any meaningful way, it's not like they are gonna set up a patrol (at least where I live they wouldn't, your mileage may vary).

Yes, those are good points. I just get upset anytime someone goes, "OH NO, DRUGS!!!"

Before reporting them to the popo, at least give them a warning. A passive way to do so would be by shining a flashlight on their car from your window and see if they come back. If they do then by all means you should call the cops.

I'd say no to the warning incase they are complete and utter ****wits like Squirrel King up there.
nope.

They're probably just smoking pot.
It's ridiculous to report them unless they're dealing hard drugs.

Probably not, because if they were, they'd probably be a lot more secretive about it.

So don't be silly.

I personally would report them, because they have made a habit of returning to this very spot. If it was a one time occurence I wouldn't think twice on it. However, if this continues weekly or worse, daily, I would say enough and enough.

You should defend where you live and stand for what you believe. Those who will tell you 'big deal' merely suggest that you bend over and take it up and become a compliant b*tch to society. Live and let live is one thing, so long as those you let live don't threaten your lifestyle. Dealing drugs / smoking up / drinking right in front of my place, repeatedly, is something that I would consider a threat to my lifestyle. Because it doesn't affect me immediately, and maybe never, doesn't mean I will roll over and shut my eyes.

We're not talking about a woman walking her obnoxiously loud, whinny kid through the neighbourhood, annoying you, or her dog who insists on urinating on your car tires and taking a crap on your lawn. We're talking about illegal activity that you do not want in your neighbourhood. You are well within your right to report them. Letting them do this unhindered will only bolster their sense of safety, they will become bolder. By summer they'll be lounging on your grass. By july they'll have more friends along for the after-school party. Word will travel. More kids will take up this habit.

This scenario may not happen, no. However, it is a possibility. Its not a very far-fetched scenario. Personally, I wouldnt be willing to take the risk.

I really don't see why someone who doesn't want drugs (potentially hard drugs like heroin or cocaine) being dealt on their property is an ******* for calling the cops. If they were dealing just weed, believe me, it wouldn't be in "easter eggs" or be yellow/brown in color. And for those who are saying, "Durr, they would be more secretive if they were hard?". Well what the hell if they see a cop car comin, they can ditch a stash of whatever illegal drugs ON MY LAWN and get the hell out. Regardless it puts the property owner in a bad situation, because either way he's gonna be asked if he allowed these kids to do this on his property.

I certainly would not want drugs being distributed on my property. Who the **** knows what they just smoked and got in the car with. It could be as innocent as marijuana, could be some crystal meth, maybe they ****ing just smoked some legal salvia and are TRIPPING BALLS driving around my neighborhood. Who the **** knows, I'm not gonna take the chance, call the cops.
