That reminds me of the whole Pommy-getting-unadminned crisis and how people were like "WE NEVER THOUGHT POMMY WOULD DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT"

Happy Birthday Massassi!

Umm... Let's see memories.

The other day I was cleaning out some backup cds and found the City Block contest JED file. That took me back. Good times.

Aww turns out its just the default city block. Still oldschool though.

Actually while I'm on here, anyone know if there's a way to access the old Editor's Corners images? I noticed I had a thing on there but all the images are 2002 or earlier. Anyone know if theres a backup somewhere or a way to get at them?

I think all the pre-April 2003 screenshots were pruned with the forums. Sadly I never took backups of those :|

Holy ****, thats the original Massassi City! I remember trying to do something similar with JO. Gave up. Year later I tried the same thing with JA. Still want to give it a shot sometime. That seriously took me back mate. :D

Its too bad JKe never came out earlier. It would have had such a revival impact on JK.

You mean came out for free (that's JKedit, right?) IIRC, JKedit was available early enough, but you had to buy it. JED was free and awesome.

Yeah, Jedi Knight Enhanced.

Would you agree that when the zone shut down, that was the final blow for JK? I've always speculated that it was but at the time I was too far away from the community to know for sure what the reason was, other then the game just being old and relatively unknown.

JKFiles idiot 1: OMG ther wuz a game be4 JO?
JKFiles idiot 2: ya it wuz cld Jedi Knight
JKFiles idiot 1: omg hiz hands r box
JKFiles idiot 2: I kno JK iz ghey.

I knew about Massassi 7 years ago, So I probably started frequenting the chat (I began in the chat) about 5 years ago. Maybe it was 6.

Does anyone know what happened to Glyde?
I had a blog. It sucked.

Or people just moved on to better multiplayer games. Jedi Knight had atrocious net code, terrible cheat protection, dated graphics even by 1997 standards, etc. "Saber dueling" pretty much boiled down to exploiting or fooling the net code as everyone phased in and out of existence, hopping around and flailing their glowsticks as their 56k modems were coughing up blood.

I think it's been close to 7 or 8 years for me. I started the summer before my freshman or sophomore year of high school and I'm now a graduating senior in college

Jesus... frickin' christ...

I came back to this site after +/- 5 years, with my horrible username. And it was still registered? I love this site...

So where did the showcase-forum full of screenshots of maps go to?

Wow, been lurking since '99, signed up for the forums a few years later and have been in and out for what seems like a couple years but apparently has been a while. Crazy how stuff like this keeps on keepin' on.

I think I registered in 2001 with a name I can't remember.

It doesn't feel that long, since I missed virtually every troll.

Although I do remember the huge, huge, huge posts in Religious Discussion. And also the spiders.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Ive been here since 11-03-1999 which is quite amazing, im sure I was kicking around for a while before hand too, as I spent most of my time on OD34 and JK.net and popped on here when i had news and info about various TC's.

Oh happy days they were, I remember the old old members on here, most people on here are too young to remember!
Flying over there some were...

Happy Birthday Massassi! I've been signed up to the forums since 03, but lurked for a while before hand. I remember the days when there'd be new JK levels/mods submitted pretty much daily. And people used the Editors Corner. Good times.

Amazing to read through all my old posts... I was one pain in the ***

I remember you (Echoman), Gothix, Freyer, Lassev...
that's about it...
Oh, and AKPiggot? Did he ever release that Darth Vader level?
2009-04-02, 9:47 PM #75
Oh man, I've been lurking here since...2001. Jesus, I've grown up with Massassi, and SOMEHOW I turned out somewhat normal. I remember Pugler, and I remember some of the DDOS attacks we got (nothing specific though, i'm not that good.) and of course, the infamous Jin spider thread. Whatever happend to Flexor? He was a cool guy, and then just kinda dissapeared. There are a lot of people missing from this forum :(

I gotta say, it's funny looking back on hacker attacks and thinking fondly of them.

Little bit late... but Happy Birthday, Massassi!!! I joined the forums here on 08-19-2000 (I was 10), although I'd been visiting the site before then. I remember coming to this site when the Zone was still around. BGJ NF Sabers - hell yes! And all the other awesome levels - Drazen Isle, Jawa Dwelling SE, Caesar's Palace, Baron's Head RPG, etc... and back when my brother (Saber_Scorpion) released Mos Espa RPG in 2000 and lots of people were playing it on the Zone. I only released one lousy level, myself (Saber Canyon). It's weird to think I was only around 7 or 8 when I started playing JK: DF2 (back in 1997 or 1998 - I'll be 19 on the 15th of this month). I led The Saber Clan with my brother from around 1999 to May 30th, 2002. Good times.
