You realise we have different channels here, right?
nope.

You mean you don't have Fox, NBC or ABC over there?
2009-04-24, 3:08 PM #43
No.

Why the hell would we?
nope.

I don't know why you would. But I don't know why you wouldn't. If you have satellite tv over there, you must get american networks. At least a couple... Are you telling me you get zero american television networks?

Not to my knowledge.

I think you might be able to get some of the dodgy news channels.
nope.

So I am taking this as a "Batman Begins" type senerio. I have been reading that it is suppose to take place in an alternate reality, via string theory? Is this actually a part of the film, or some Treky nerd just trying to force this new reboot into the "Bible" of Star Trek?

Actually, it's a Star Wars nerd (J.J. Abrams) sent to breathe some life into the Trek franchise. The way he describes it, "it's like Star Wars has possessed the body of Star Trek".
"Harriet, sweet Harriet - hard-hearted harbinger of haggis."

So the left arm is trying to rip the right arm off, and the legs are fighting to try and get the attention of the brain, which has made several copies of the ears?

will this movie be enjoyable for non trekkies?
2009-04-26, 9:49 AM #61
Yes, two of the people I went with had never seen any Star Trek whatsoever and they loved it. One of them is an amateur film reviewer that sees lots of press screenings, so he's quite critical.
