I had a blog. It sucked.

Also you just told the entire internet, good job.

Hey, SF_GoldG_01, considering how much you seem to enjoy rattling off the details of your insipid little fictional life, did it ever occur to you that someone simply did a Google search for "Jesse Angell, Professional Game Developer (phd, p. eng, esq. pte ltd, llc.)" and found twelve pages of you telling stories that have never actually happened to you, ever?
2009-04-28, 7:59 PM #44
I only know what the Ph.D means, thats a pretty impressive list.

or perhaps they didn't like her or you and knew you dated so they guessed and it happened to be right?

I find it hilarious that instead of even remotely considering the possibility (correction: reality) that secrets are hardly kept, especially with stuff like OMG WE HAD SEX AND NEVER TOLD ANYONE LULZ HIGH SCHOOL, that it MUST be a keylogger

I don't know how they found out, they just know. I didn't tell anyone, and neither did the other people. That was just one example.

If I were to say, I had sex with a girl on this forum, that means nothing to anybody. I could have had sex with any girl with such a statement. The fact that someone knows who I've had sex with, date and time and place, and details discussed via msn, means someone is somehow learning about our conversations. I'm not the leak, and the other side swears they didn't tell anyone, and I have VERY good reason to trust her.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Hypothetical question.

Let's say you find this alleged person who has nothing better to do than spy on your convos.

What are you even going to do?
2009-04-28, 9:39 PM #49
First of all, find a way to stop this person from spying. Secondly, spy on them and get dirt on them to keep their mouths shut.

Format your harddrive.

Problem solved.

You realize she's probably lying, right? You are obviously not well-versed in the female ways. When a female says that she "didn't tell anybody", she means that she ONLY told her best friend, and then that best friend told her best friend, and then it spreads like wildfire.

We should tell her that SF_Gold told the entire internet that he had sex with her.

Obviously the only way to be certain of who is the spy is to run around with a flamethrower shooting all your friends till one of them lights on fire.
Life is beautiful.
2009-04-28, 10:40 PM #56
Can't trust a hoe -- and she obviously told. Sorry to break up your fantasy espionage story but I guarantee that she told someone.
2009-04-28, 10:45 PM #57
Flamethrowers "shoot?" Wouldn't it be called something else?
2009-04-28, 10:48 PM #58
Well, it 'ejaculates' flammable goo-like liquid i suppose..

If I were to disclose the reasons that relieve her of suspicion of telling the secrets, then anyone who came across this thread and knows us both could identify her.

With what I have revealed in this thead is totally useless information. Having claimed I had sex with a girl and people found out about? There is more than one such incident with more than one person. So its as if I rob 10 stores, and just told you "I've robbed a store."

I have not disclosed any information that could identify her, so she is safe. Therefore to the smarty pants who think I am making things worse by speaking about the subject, rest assured, there is nothing here that could possibly trace back to her.

why isn't sf_goldg_01 responding to jon`c's post

2009-04-28, 11:56 PM #61
Seriously Goldy, it is many many many many times more likely that the problem is humans. Humans are terrible secret keepers when they want to keep them and infinitely worse when they aren't particularly bothered, then EVEN WORSE when they think said secret is funny and/or embarrassing to someone.

You do not know for a fact that your female friend didn't let slip, you don't even know for a fact that your face didn't communicate said facts to other people without you saying a word.

There are any number of ways your sordid little spat could have escaped into the realm of your circle of acquaintances and each of them far more likely than someone decided to (FOR NO REASON BECAUSE BEFORE THIS THEY KNEW "NOTHING") set up a keylogger on your pc to monitor your msn chats.

Now where is the smiley that bangs its stupid head against a brick wall?

ah well, have to go with :suicide:
2009-04-29, 12:38 AM #62
She doesn't have to say anything. Someone can merely ask about it, and the truth'll show through body language.

Half of the time I don't say anything and everyone gets the information from me anyway.

Edit: Heh, just noticed that Martyn somewhat beat me to it.
2009-04-29, 12:56 AM #63
Well I guess the body language makes sense. At any case, this hasn't even helped me at all. I want to go back to the original topic. How do I find out whether or not some one is monitoring my communications?
Nothing to see here, move along.

(1) They aren't.

(2) Unplug your LAN cable.

Hahahahahaha. Gold thinks girls can actually keep "secrets". :neckbeard:

More importantly is why doesn't he want people to know he had sex with this girl? Normal male behavior is to be proud of sexual accomplishments.

I can see several possibilities.

1 - Gold had sex with his sister.
2 - This 'girl' had a penis.
3 - This girl was dead drunk and would never even look at someone like Gold if she wasn't, and now she has to hide it to keep her 'cool' status. (Is it possible to be cool in Mexico?)
2009-04-29, 5:02 AM #68
4. All of the above.
2009-04-29, 5:12 AM #69
What none of you realise is that the MSN he's talking about is the Mexican Secrecy Network.
nope.
2009-04-29, 9:13 AM #70
Honestly I'd be more worried about catching swine flu down there then whether or not your computer has a keylogger on it.

They probably have a Massassi account.

It's not like they would even have to dig past the first page to find out some lame gossip.

Oooh as much as it kills me to agree with a stereotype like this, and it does, the feminist in me is hanging her head in shame - it's true. In girl talk: "I told no one" usually equals "I only told my best friend"

Also - simplest solution is most often the case. Why would someone bother putting a keylogger on your computer? In the history of people-try-to-find-out-gossip I can almost guarantee that no one has bothered to resort to that. If you're that worried, I would follow BOTH of these solutions very carefully:

1. Reformat hard drive. (other option: throw computer into nearby body of water)
2. Never tell anyone anything you want to keep private.
Fincham: Where are you going?
Me: I have no idea
Fincham: I meant where are you sitting. This wasn't an existential question.

Also --

Password protect your computer from idiot friends who may want to use it. Create a seperate account with no permissions for them to use.

Or create no such account and just not let them use it.

I mean. Really. Especially if it's a laptop. Underwear, Socks, Laptops - there are certain things not even your best friend can borrow.

We've actually had several threads in the past reporting girlfriends or family members that keylogged massassians to gain petty social information.

In the history of people-try-to-find-out-gossip I can almost guarantee that no one has bothered to resort to that. If you're that worried, I would follow BOTH of these solutions very carefully:

1.- Like I said, if I were to reveal my reasons as to why I know she didn't say anything, she could easily be identified.

2.- The reason I'm afraid of a keylogger or a packet sniffer is because it has happened down here. I'm usually not one involved in gossip. I only listen but I don't associate with people who go around telling everyone when I took a leak every day. I hate it when I can't do anything without everyone finding out. My private life is private. I like keeping it that way.

3.- The fact that people are finding out not only about certain secrets I share with one person, but are finding out about other things that have to do with people they DO NOT KNOW face to face or even over MSN, is suggesting that they are finding things out via a keylogger or packet sniffer.

Is there any program I could run to find out whether someone is spying on me? What backs my suspicions up more, is that back in Highschool, there were a couple of guys who were pretty good at doing stuff. They would steal msn passwords and try to sell em back to you after they changed it. They would change grades in the system before the grade cards were printed. They would get into the system and steal exams. They did a lot of stuff. The thing is they NEVER got caught. Did they do it for money? Or for grades? No, they did it for fun, for the joy of getting into other people's stuff and invading privacy.

There, now you know that I do know people who CAN do it and who WOULD go to the trouble of doing it.

I do have an ex girlfriend who wants to ruin any relationship I have with other girls in order for me to comeback with her. But I really doubt she can do any of that stuff.
