MBP has a 1440x900 screen resolution and a 9600M GT. It supports DirectX 10 features but the 9600M GT is roughly comparable to a five year old card (Radeon 9800 XT) in terms of performance. Unless the i7 has the cheapest integrated graphics possible it's going to demolish the MBP, even running at 1920x1200.

The i7 build has a 4870 in it
The priority isn't gaming and a 9600M GT is "sufficient" for my needs (Source games el oh el). There's no question that in terms of hardware power the i7 build is multiple orders of magnitude stronger. I guess the only logical factor in my consideration (since me wanting a MBP is pretty illogical to begin with) is the issue of whether having a desktop at school would be a hassle in terms of movability/storage/blah. (Again, I already have a tablet to serve as a mobile computer, so whatever this is is gonna be for 'desktop' use -- more power, more stationary, etc)
