Wraa, my computer won't be able to handle 1080 >:(

I'll probably transcode them to xvid avis at 720p.

That is THEORETICALLY, if I were to download them from a torrent.

2009-06-18, 10:12 PM #9
I am extracting the DVD9 version right now, didn't bother to look for 1080p version. Not that anything I have could handle it, other than perhaps the PS3 if put into the right format

It's an ISO, can't you mount it on your PC and play it with any Blu-Ray software player?

But he 'fixed' things that were correct. Like "6 - Removed the horrible blue hazing as the stardestroyers engine come into view".

Funny thing is that I've never ever seen the original version of A New Hope so I guess watching it would just be weird...

...definitely snatching that ESB though, even though I haven't really even watched the laserdisc rip I got in 2005. :|

Or not, seeing as it is 1080p and my video equipment sucks :|

I don't know if its because I've watched them too much over the years, or because I've grown out of it, but I just don't find Star Wars, original three or new ones, entertaining anymore. At least not to the fan boy degree I used to anyways.

I'm sort of in the same boat. I mean, I'll enjoy the films if I ever find myself watching them, but they don't exactly jump off the shelf and they haven't for a few years. I still don't get why people would get this excited over someone "fixing" the movies, either. If you think every item in that list is a problem then you probably didn't enjoy them to begin with, and if you don't then what's the problem with enjoying the films as they were released? I never once turned a Star Wars film off in disgust because the atmospheric haze wasn't translucent enough or whatever.

It's exciting for the same reason any remake is exciting, like that old killed-off Chrono Trigger project. It's not that I didn't enjoy the original, it's just I can enjoy it again with better quality.

I don't know about you but all these "issues" that this person is trying to fix was also what I enjoyed in my Star Wars viewing experience. I mean, they reminded me that these movies had and always will belong to the 70s and the 80s.

1. Is it a different torrent than the DVD9 version, or was he saying he just used the HD version that's been on TV's as his source

2. I'd wanna watch it on a bigger screen. Regardless, I did find PS3 Media Player which allows the PS3 to just read from .iso's, so I'd use that so I can at least watch it on a real screen.

Got any links about that by chance? I've considered ripping a lot of my DVDs to ISOs and storing em on my file server, to then be streamed out to either my PS3 or 360.

I can't find where to download the 1080p version. I can only find the DVD version. Also, is only Episode IV currently released, or is Episode V released yet?

Could someone direct me to a link please? It seems like some of you have found it. I've tried google and some popular torrent sites with no success...

Awesome. I want it.

I found 1080p versions (newsgroups, sorry torrent people!), but I'm unsure if those are the same versions as the "revisited"?

I was under the impression that for the SW Ep IV Revisited, that he actually changed certain sequences (like speeding up the lightsaber battle at the end), whereas these 1080p versions I found it looks like he just did a lot of color correction to fix the horrible prints.

Wait... so I can watch any media file on the PS3 using that? Even ISO files?
If this works I am a happy, happy, man.

I've yet to run into any files that won't play with that server (it's essentially TVersity). I'm sure you might need to configure it if you run into files that it won't handle, but as of now, workin great

I might get ahold of this if someone can confirm a true 1080p version exists. I don't want to spend the time searching if it doesn't even exist.

Also: Anyone who cares enough to download this has CLEARLY purchased a version of this movie by now. Seriously.

Kirby, his color correction releases are definitely 1080p source that he took from German HDTV and used the LaserDisc AC3 Dolby Digital for the audio. However, as of right now, he has the versions fitting on a dual-layer DVD as an AVCHD format (so playable by PS3/Bluray players). He says there is a high bitrate .mkv file coming out at some point, but I'm guessing it hasn't come out yet.

HOWEVER, I'm unsure if the "revisited" release is in 1080p or not. He's released Ep 4 and 5 with basic colour correction from that 1080p feed, but I'm unsure about the "revisited" release of Ep 4. I watched it last night and it did look awesome, so I'd recommend you might as well check it out anyway unless you got some bandwidth caps

I haven't gotten the chance to watch the entire revisited ANH, but I did catch the Greedo scene which made the static mask a lot easier to buy with a bit of morphing.

The extra scenes outside of the Death Star with the Imperial Navy flying by are very cool, as well as the added scenes with combat in space in the final battle.

Well I guess I found a 1080p version of the coloration, but the revisited is still low res. I'll get both, but I'd like to know if anyone hears anything about 1080p Revisited.
