I just finished watching A New Hope
I was definitely impressed with what the guy did. I never had too much of a problem with Lucas' edits or re-touches of film as long as they weren't blatant attempts to reference the prequels. This guy here did a pretty good job fixing all the colors and such, but when he added the EpIII main song during the Obi-Wan/Vader fight, I was kinda "eh" on that. I did however really enjoy how he sped that battle up with different cuts and alternate angles, as it made it seem a lot better. The extended scenes during the Death Star fight were cool too, but the main extended TIE battle he threw in you can definitely tell was choppy. Almost 20 seconds it seems goes with no dialogue yet we cut to 5 different pilots :/. Another thing I DID like was how he seemed to speed up all the times where the characters had to get on the ship quickly. I never liked the whole "gotta get away! Let's take down some people first!" thing, but he seemed to fix that.
All in all I'll prolly keep this version around because it still looks very damn good, and it is nice just to see some continuity with the FX. He made things faster that needed to be faster, and he made scenes slightly more efficient.
