Fraps is actually pretty decent once you figure out the optimum recording framerate.

I used to use camstudio for some lighter things, never got around to it on more advanced games.

I think i'll hijack this.
Does fraps record audio too? And if not, what does?

If you don't want to pay for fraps, Xfire works just as well and is free. (and it lets you convert to mpeg and upload to an xfire profile all in the client).

Since I'm making a video on Jedi Knight, I want to get my facts straight.
  • Jedi Knight is the first Star Wars game where you play as force user who isn't in the films.
  • Jedi Knight is the first Star Wars game that introduces new Dark Jedi.
  • Jedi Knight introduces never before seen force powers such as protection and destruct.
  • Jedi Knight is the first Star Wars game where you can customize your force powers.
  • Jedi Knight is the first Star Wars game that takes place after Return of the Jedi (isn't Dark Forces in between EP IV and EP VI?)
Nothing to see here, move along.

This is probably accurate, unless you want to split hairs over exactly what constitutes a Force user. Technically speaking, the player's character in X-Wing and Rookie 1 both destroyed the first Death Star the same way Luke did.

Half right. The Force was regarded as something ephemeral and malleable until Jedi Knight solidified it as something akin to spells out of a wizard's tome. However, the first game that featured Force Protection was the original Empire Strikes Back arcade game.

This is probably accurate.

Jedi Knight's FMV cutscenes had the first officially-produced lightsaber combat after Return of the Jedi.

Didn't it also hold some record for sheer amount of FMV (On a PC game) for a while?

So the games contradict the movie? How do you destroy the death star in those games? Isn't Rookie 1 from Rebel Assualt?

As main characters, or just enemies? Were they part of the plot?

The Dark Jedi in TIE Fighter are a huge part of the plot, and most people just say that the parts in X-Wing with the trench run are non-canon.

Hmm Rebel Assault one really does mess things up as far story goes. Having only played Rebel Assault 2, I had no idea what happened in number one.
