Lucasarts to make announcement tommorow

I can't wait untill Jedi Knight is released, and then is patched to work on modern PCs while breaking mod compatability.
Wait that's terrible, and probably true.

RC is awesome.

And nobody mentioned Sam & Max.

Shame on you.

Funny thing... I installed RC on my new PC a couple of days ago. :P
I can't wait for the day schools get the money they need, and the military has to hold bake sales to afford bombs.

That's probably how they're going to run on Steam.

You have to wonder about a company that has some of the best IPs in the industry, yet strives for mediocrity under the business model of, "Lets make bad games, rarely." It's not like they have to even make them, all they have to do is license them out. Three guys of average intelligence and a small legal team could make Lucasarts more profitable than they are now.

Is battlefront II worth buying?

Yahtzee had a good bit on LucasArts in his Psychonauts review. Chimps with down syndrome, it's pretty accurate. :downs:

if it's cheap maybe.... i actually thought battlefront 1 was better because they didn't include jedi

but the whiny nerds won out and they put ****ing jedi into the sequel

On PC they lock the multiplayer frame rate to the server tick rate. This defaults to 20. This should be an indication of the amount of effort that went into producing the title.

I think BF2 was pretty good, on the Ps2.
Now on the PC it's all "JEDI JEDI JEDI JEDI" crap.
Everyone is special and now nobody isn't basicly.

No, they have their own in-house Windows SCUMM interpreter. The more recent budget-priced re-releases ran on it. ScummVM is superior in every way imaginable but for some reason I can't imagine Lucasarts using it.

Well yeah, all you need for ScummVM is a couple of a files, which im sure can be easily taken from the Steam installation.

What a coincidence. I just...borrowed the RC CDs off a friend of mine because we were talking about RC. I'd never played the full game, and it's fun as hell.
I had a blog. It sucked.

What's with all the love for RC all of a sudden? I bought RC a year ago, I guess, and it just got repetitive. It was really fun and cool at first, but after doing the same things over and over, I was just eager to be finished.

I don't understand Armed and Dangerous. They released it for free some years ago.....

I agree. RC felt unpolished.

I thought it was a decent title. That's because I set my expectations very, very low.

I remember playing the beta and they only had 1 special class per team at a time and they were still pretty easy to blow up.
nope.

It would be nice if they would release JK and fix it to work with modern hardware. As it stands now its just HOM effect if I turn 3D acceleration on.

It was unpolished and WAY too short. I finished it with a great sense of anti-climax. I thought it was building to something good, I finished the last level thinking "oh it's really going to pick up from here" and *bam* end. I did enjoy it though.
