Now before everyone goes jumping down my throat, I'm not saying it's a bad thing.

And it's not so much fighting as "debating"

Just by reading posts I find it intriguing is all. But also entertaining. The attacks and counter attacks.

Not all of the time, but most of the time, the rebuttles have pretty good arguments.

Eh, well i'm sure you all were aware of this. Anyways I'm bored, and reading posts, I dont think I have yet to enter one without some sort of quarrel within it. lol anyways just amused me is all lol

The thing about massassi is...people don't understant the definition of 'opinion', so a nice debate is usually turned into an argument.

Tis the nature of Massassi. In fact, I think that's standard of every online forum to have squabbles. Only we take things to heart...and sometimes act childish. We had a Religious Forum at one point and ooooh boy. That forum was constantly on fire from all the flame wars.

yes, and I've come to see that most people have strong opinons on this board.(which again nothing is wrong with that.

Only thing that confuses me is the knowledge that everyone should be aware of the fact that not everyone is going to think or feel the same way on subjects.

So why the aggression when people do not see eye to eye, or when someone voices themselves is beyond me.

Everyone has the right to their own opinons, I guess that's just what all of you guys are doing (voicing yourselves that is). I just find this board entertaining to read is all.

I've noticed sometimes certain groups of guys will be attacking one person, then the next minute someone or various people from that same group will be on the attack with each other.

There were some, most of the time threads ended up being endless replies with quotes, which got annoying as hell. I poped in once and a while, but never was a huge contributor to the forum. I mainly just read what everyone else had to say.

hm yeah. Well i've seen some childish bickering on the board, but i've also seen some decent debates.

Guess that intrigues me is all. I've always enjoyed debating a point on a topic I'm passionate about.

And everyone is clearly passionate about most of the topics here.

But yes, sometimes there is just childish banter

haha! well what is the age range of visitors to the board?

I can already see it's mainly male dominated, but what are the different ages on the board?

I personally am 3 months away from turning 21. But I read a post in another thread stating about inappropriate material for the younger members. Which made me curious as to exactly how young they mean by "younger members" If there are really young people visiting that would definitely make me more aware of the things I write.

Anyways though, if the majority of the members are young, that could explain the "fan-boy bickering" lol. either they are young, or if they are older then it's just immaturity.

Around 12 to mid thirties, I believe. I'd guess most of the active posters are between fourteen and 25, though. There are exceptions, of course, thus the MOST part.

Anyways I also feel as if I'm being intrusive by being on the board. Chris (Spiral) sent the link a while ago, back in May and I never dared to post on it. I know it wasn't even his intention for me to actually check out the whole board.

Anyways regardless kind of feel like this is his turf (if that makes any sense). As his friend i'm going to respect that and back off. Plus I dont know if he even realizes I've been posting on here and well he would probably find it weird. So well I'll stop by every now and again to post. You all seem like pretty cool guys and I enjoy chatting with you.

twisted, do you still have a crush on Spiral or something? Or are you that pissed at him? You've brought him up in every thread you've made and essentially derailed your own threads. Secondly, this isn't his turf. It's Brian's turf. Nobody's actions should dictate your actions anyway.

Now, about the arguing. I've slowly become more seperated from Massassi. I just don't let myself get sucked into all the pointless *****ing anymore, thus why I have stopped looking at political threads. Nothing ever new comes to the surface, so why bother? However, I still come to the Discussion Forum because it is a bit more asthetically appealing than the Discussion Forum of another forum site I go to.

People on this forum seem to be under the mistaken impression that an opinion is still valid even if it's both uneducated and easily disproven.

For example, SAJN's assertation that "BUMPMAPPING IS WHY DOOM 3 LOOKS LIKE PLASTIC" even though it isn't, I know exactly why Doom 3 looks shiny, and he's pumping a metric assload of unrefined bull**** into the forums every time he opens his gaping piehole. Jesus Christ it's annoying as all hell and reminds me of every single time Friend14 tried talking about graphics, resulting in several people from the GD.net forums to visit and back me up.

Opinions are not always right. If you don't believe me, try giving the same line to your university professor and he'll ***** slap you with a GPA of 1. Maybe when you get out of grade school you'll realize just how retarded and irrelevant your feeble opinions really are. Nobody cares about your bat**** theories and justifying your lies and bull**** by calling it an opinion doesn't make you any less wrong.
