Staying away from Massassi and visiting several other boards I've come to the conclusion that Massassi is actually pretty damn friendly. I think there have been only 2 or 3 message boards I've been around to that are more mature and pleasant than this place. And the rest of the dozens of boards I've visited are literal hellholes, the amount of immature trolling, flaming, bickering etc. are 10x worse than here really. But then again the 2 places that are nicer than massassi are REALLY nicer than massassi....this place is quite a strange mixture of those 2 extremes.

I go to this airsoft forum that's full of uber-conservatives, and the flaming in threads about the middle east has gotten so bad that they've sensored the words 'iraq' and 'iran' Now they have to reffer to them as 'the romulan empire' (iran) and 'the klingon empire' (iraq).

And I remember this lovely fellow Finn from a certain game forum who just flamed people whenever they would post something (no matter who posted or what they posted, he was there to say "F**K YOU, j00 r a S**THOLE MOTHERF****R LOLOLOLOL") I think he made like 2000 posts in 2 months or something.
In the end, he became the admin of those forums....

In my opinion, there's three reasons why we argue so much.

1. This is the internet. Anonymity can do strange things to a person.

2. We're (mostly) guys.

Umm, what's the difference between debate and an "argument". Really, a good argument is just claim + warrant + data. Essays make an argument. You just made an argument right here.

A debate would be a system of clashing arguments.

Unless of course you're using it as if an argument is an abusive debate, such as those held by feuding parents.

I thoroughly enjoy debates, such as the 'Religion' one, as long as they follow logic. As soon as debates start becoming "emotional", that's when they go downhill.

And nooone says I dont argue haha. those who know me KNOW I will debate my point. I'm just saying on this board I see some debates, but then again like previously stated some of the arguments are just childish.

Hey I never at ANY point said that I felt Massassi was a mean place. If you read my first post I merely pointed out that I see lots of debates going on. In a later post I also commented on how i've met a lot of nice people on this board. Just because people argue doesn't mean I am calling them rude. On the contrary people have the right to speak their minds. Just as I do.

I was only stating that unlike other boards I've been too, seems as if basically every thread on this board has some sort of debate within it. And once more, as I stated in my first post, I wasn't saying it was a bad thing. I was merely stating that it was just something that I noticed.

I sometimes post on L*c*sF*r*ms and the thing that impresses me about Massassi is how quickly people respond. I'm often waiting days for replies on the forum-that-shall-not-be-named, but on Massassi I have to type quickly for fear of someone else replying before I'm done typing out my reply.
