What's your favorite accent (when speaking English)?

Personally, I like the Scottish accent and the Irish accent. Heh, they sound cool. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Try saying "armada" with a Scottish accent.

Good luck with that.

accents aren't that hard, its simply pronouncing letters/sounds differently. Listen to a good example of a british accent for awhile and you will gradually pick it up.

Well, as a Britlander who's lived in both the midlands and the south, I still have difficulty understanding what the heck those crazy people from up north are talking about, liverpool, newcastle, york etc.

As for favourite accents, probably northern irish, it's like an english-irish hybrid, the sexyness but still easy to understand.

Northern English is great.

'Ere, Arv gorra great idea... Enoof... stoff... Eee, Thar'd be gran'.

Alright, yes I'm exaggerating, but it's very quaint. Just listen to Sean Bean.

I like the sound of South African English as well. They might even toss in a word of Afrikaans too.

Swedish as spoken by people from the Skåne region. Can be very hard to decipher at first. Almost as difficult as Danish (which is ironically very easy to read as long as you use logic and older swedish terms. e.g. girl = pige, resembles piga, which means something like maid in Swedish).

French as spoken by Algerians, Morrocans, and Senegalese. Rolling all their R's and really enounciating. Especially great in music.

I always like the Indian accent. I use to do it really good but I can't do it so well anymore. I have to replay NOLF2 again to hear the accent again so I can do it again.

When speaking french, I like the french accent. But brits and americans butcher the language beyond any comprehension.

Russian is absolutely the most annoying and absolutely horrible sounding accent ever. Every other accent is awesome but also may or may not depend on the timbre of the speaker's voice. I'm of a Slavic origin, so I'm all too familiar with this hell on earth. The Russian accent. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/redface.gif]

well, my favourite to imitate is probably the aforementioned glaswegian accent but it's always funny how many people here in the US think i've got a "british accent" when i speak normally
(i've actually got a "colonial brit" accent, i guess... grew up in Zimbabwe)

kiwi accents are freakishly cool, too [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

Kiwis and South Africans are the best to make fun of.

Scottish and British in general I find the most... Interesting. Once had a crush on a Scottish girl simply because of her accent. She came in one day with a cold and hence a really deep voice, argh, I almost had to go home and change.

British Accents are my favorite

Where I used to work we would get in lots of people who were travelers on vacation and I'd love when they would purchase something. The sound of their accent was great. I had friends who didn't like it, but I always loved it

Hm contemplating one day moving over there. Find me a cute guy with a british accent lol [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]
